Have you ever wondered why Warner Bros. doesn’t have its own theme park? After all, Universal Studios and Disneyland could use a rival, and Warner Bros. does have some of the greatest animation icons in its library (as well as all of the DC comic book characters). Well, it seems as though Warner Bros. World is finally on its way to becoming a reality in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with sections devoted to Superman, Batman, and even The Flintstones.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has released the first concept art for its “six immersive worlds,” which include Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, and Warner Bros. Plaza. And as you can see in the Gotham City image, the Joker, Mr. Freeze, and the Riddler are each getting their own attractions.
In Metropolis, things are considerably sunnier with the Justice League’s Hall of Justice and the Ace of Clubs, the sometimes reputable establishment run by Superman’s pal, Bibbo Bibowski.
One thing to keep in mind is that even though Warner Bros. World will be completely indoors, Gotham will always be bathed in darkness while Metropolis will always have the brightest day. Of course, Warner Bros. World wouldn’t be complete without a home for the Looney Tunes or Scooby Doo. That’s where Cartoon Junction comes inâalthough a few of the other animated favorites will be featured in Dynamite Gulch.
You can see the rest of the concept art in our gallery below. According to the announcement, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi may open as soon as next year. And it may be worth the very expensive trip it would take to get there, since the ideas for the park seem terrific, and we’re dying to see more! And hey, if it does well, maybe Warner Bros. will bring something similar to America.
