Next year, Legendary Pictures will be bringing a beloved world of fantasy to the big screen with their new film Warcraft. Based on the popular video game series from Blizzard Games, Warcraft has a huge presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year. While convention attendees can see a wide assortment of weapons, armor, and few life-sized statutes of both King Llane Wrynn and Orgim Doomhammer, Legendary Comics announced at the Blizzard panel on Thursday they will be offering more ways to prepare for the film’s premiere next June.
A few weeks before Warcraft is released into theaters, Legendary Comics will jumpstart their hype train with Warcraft: Bonds Of Brotherhood, a graphic novel due out a few weeks before May of 2016. Not much about the book’s actual storyline or what connections it will have with the film are known at this point, but the graphic novel will bring a story concept from Blizzard’s own Chris Metzen that will be written by Hugo Award-Nominated Paul Cornell, with art by Mat Broome. Take a look at the cover image that was presented as well.
The Warcraft film has languished through pre-production issues for nearly ten years, and finally got the ball rolling a couple of years ago. The film will focus on the early encounters of humans and orcs in the Warcraft lore and is set to focus equally on each side of the conflict. Warcraft is set to release on June 10, 2016, with Bonds Of Brotherhood hitting shelves a few weeks beforehand in May.
