Itâs 2016! Virtual reality is finally coming to our living rooms! And thanks to the Game Developers Conference going down in San Francisco this week, weâre finally learning just what itâs gonna cost us to finally give up on the real world once and for all. So whatâs the word? How much will virtual reality cost you? And which one should you pick up? Sony’s Playstation VR headset has the cheapest price point, but is somewhat misleading, as one would need to pick up a couple of ancillary pieces of hardware to get up and running, like the Playstation Camera and those kick-ass Move controllers. The Oculus is slightly more expensive, but has some arguably better features to make up for the price difference. But the HTC Vive for Valve is firmly planting themselves in the luxury category, with base-level prices well-above the one-thousand dollar mark. So, it it worth it?
Join Jessica Chobot as we break down the costs of the Sony system, comparing those to the features and price point for the Oculus, and the high-end fancy pants HTC Vive, on today’s Nerdist News.
