Vanessa Bayer Wants to Be a Haim Sister in the Latest Episode of SOUND ADVICE

The last time Janessa Slater (Vanessa Bayer) interviewed Haim, they were a sister down. But now that Danielle is back in action without a sore throat, she isn’t wasting any time trying to convince the trio that she is the perfect addition to the group: “I’m kinda hot and Jewish, so I can just insert myself in.”

But the Haim sisters aren’t having any of her nonsense–none of it. After one too many gaffes–telling them they look like they work at Urban Outfitters being the worst offense–Slater tries to win them back by suggesting an off-the-cuff performance with Haim, providing instrumentals for her extremely guttural grunts and defeated lyrics: “Oh! This was a mistaaaake!” The whole affair ends with a nonconsensual group hug (the worst kind of group hug) that involves the three sisters boxing out Slater as she desperately climbs onto the siblings.

Maybe if Slater had more time to practice a routine, she might be able to collaborate with Haim with better results. Take their collaboration with Jenny Lewis for example. Also, if Slater gets banned from hanging with the band, does that mean Vanessa Bayer does too? That would be a shame. Who would host fictional talk shows for their music videos? That is a real question, because I want the answer to be me. Please notice me Haim. I Above Average
