Valiant Unsheathes NINJAK #0 This Fall (Preview)

If you have royally screwed up your life and missed out on writer Matt Kindt’s epic Ninjak run, fear not, salvation is at hand. This September, Valiant Comics is doing you a solid and releasing Ninjak #0, a comic book being touted as “a perfect jumping-on point.” We’ve been telling you for a while now that Ninjak is the greatest comic book character ever. We’ve told you time and time again that Kindt’s time with the purple-clad superspy has been an absolute must-read. Now, with Ninjak #0, it’s time to get on board with the best action comic on the stands.

Ninjak #0 from Valiant Comics

Ninjak #0 is a 40-page monster that will serve as an ending and a beginning. First off, Kindt brings his huge, record-setting (he’s been on the title longer than any creator in the character’s history) run to a close. Ninjak’s past and present are set to collide in a story illustrated by fan-favorite artist Francis Portela (Faith). This alone is enough to make Ninjak #0 a must-buy book.

There’s more though. Ninjak will be launching into a new ongoing series this November in the pages of Ninja-K #1, with writer Christos Gage (Netflix’s Daredevil) and artist Tomas Giorello (X-O Manowar) stepping in as the new creative team. Ninjak #0 will serve as the bridge between this new era and the end of Kindt’s run. It promises to tie up loose ends, create new knots, and deliver all the crazy ninja action we love.

For you collectors out there, Valiant is unleashing some gorgeous variant covers for this issue. Superstar artists like David Mack (Daredevil, American Gods), Clayton Henry, Yama Orce, Peter Bagge (Hate), and Javier Pulido (She-Hulk) have all delivered some stunning and unique works, which you can scope out in the gallery below. Personally, that Pulido one is calling our name, what with its crazy angle and plethora of decapitations. We want to hang that bad boy on our wall and show it off to dinner guests.

S0, mark your calendars. This September heads will roll in Ninjak #0 and you want to be there for it. Ninjak is the greatest character in comic books and you need to be reading this series. Seriously, he’s like James Bond crossed with Batman mixed with a ninja. If you can’t get excited about that, we’ll kindly show you the door.
