Have you ever you dreamed of taking control of the galaxy far, far away and recreating some of your favorite scenes from Star Wars? If George Lucas can go back and make changes, it only seems fair that fans are allowed to do the same, and sitting in the director’s chair just became easier with the Star Wars Scene Maker iOS app. You can put your own spin on iconic scenes from the original trilogy, and no, one of those scenes isn’t in the Mos Eisley cantina. Let go of your dream of making Han shoot first again and put your focus on altering the Death Star Trench Run, the Cloud City Duel, and the Battle of Endor.
Star Wars Scene Maker has 3D models of vehicles, characters, weapons, and environments. You can move characters around and make them show up in bizarre places – like having an Ewok witness the moment when Darth Vader revealed his relationship to Luke Skywalker. Yub nub! The customization doesn’t stop there; you can move the camera angle, choose from different shooting modes, create original dialogue and record it, add a title crawl and end credits, and more. If you want to show off the scenes you’ve made to your friends, you can share it on social media.
The app is free to download and comes with the Battle of Endor from Return of the Jedi. If you want to play in the worlds of A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back, you’ll have to fork over $2.99 each for the Death Star Trench Run and Cloud City Duel or pay $3.99 for both. While the first release only focuses on Episodes IV-VI, Disney plans to add fresh content over time. This includes scenes from the upcoming Star Wars Rebels.
Will you be downloading this app and putting your own spin on Star Wars? Make a jump through hyperspace to the comments and let us know what sort of scenes you’d create.
