Upset About the TRUE DETECTIVE Casting? Try TINY DETECTIVES on for Size

Are you one of those folks that was super ornery and displeased by the announcement that the second season of HBO’s True Detective would feature Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell? (So were a lot of people, it’s OK to admit it.) Maybe you were tired of seeing that whole “middle-aged white man who’s known more for buffoonery than brilliance” casting schtick rehashed once more. Maybe you wanted to see more females headlining the cast — or at least someone with a new sort of hurdle to jump over? Well then, my friends, you might just be in the market for a pair of Tiny Detectives — the Kate Mara/Ellen Page spoof on the series.

Battling the limits of the law in addition to the limits of their own height, Page and Mara put on their best existential gear and traipse out into the land of Rust Cohle-ian virture (read: gruff accents) in order to 1.) take the law into their own hands, and 2.) make you laugh. Because it’s a comedy clip, silly! What, do you think Funny or Die has flown the coop on what they do best? Pish posh! It’s a silly little romp, nothing more, between two actress friends who happen to be very, very small. All they needed was Anna Kendrick to sorta round-out the Hollywood Shorties Club (a new thing we just made up right now). But maybe that’ll be saved for #TinyDetectivesSeason2.

So — would you trust a tiny detective? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Take your time, no need to rush: time is a flat — oh you get where we’re going with this tired joke.

holy shit, it would be amazing if tiny detectives was a show for real. it would be perfect on ifc along with protlandia, Garfunkel and oats, and comedy bang bang

  2. E.J. Dzierza says:

Vince Vaughn is an accomplished Dramatic Actor  http://tribecafilm.com/stories/5-dramatic-vince-vaughn-performances instead of the buffoon you think he is, although in the majority of comedic roles he isn’t a buffoon but actually the straight man to other buffoonish characters.  But I don’t think you really care, considering you are acting like a spoiled brat having a tantrum about not getting what you want. I mean really so they didn’t cast some people in some roles… the horror!!! The casting isn’t even done they just announced The Protagonist and the Antagonist nothing else, so stop overreacting about something you don’t have a full story on because it just makes you the author of this article look incredibly bad and am now considering skipping any stories you write if this is how you act. Have a Nice Evening and please Grow Up, Thank You.

No really…Vince Vaughn is a buffoon, I looked it up. Proof is in a short list of his movie roles: Zoolander, Pauly Shore is Dead, Old School, Black Ball, Starsky & Hutch, Dodgeball, Thumbsucker, Wedding Crashers, Fred Clause and quite a few more embarrassing titles. Dramatic actor..maybe when he was in Doogie Howser, China Beach or 21 Jump Street…maybe.

Way to only highlight the goofball comedies he has been in, which only makes up less than half of his portfolio.  Knobhead.
