Upright Citizens Brigade Founders Reunite For THE UCB SHOW

Back in October, NBC announced its new comedy streaming service, Seeso, which will feature original programming and classic comedy TV series. And one of the first new Seeso shows will include a reunion of the founding members of the influential comedy group, the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, Matt Walsh, and Matt Besser are back together for The UCB Show, an improv comedy series filmed at UCB’s newest theater in Los Angeles. The UCB Show will get an eight-episode first season that offers a ”weekly variety showcase for the best sketch, characters and stand-up homegrown at the UCB Theatres in L.A. and NYC.” The trailer above offers a good taste of what The UCB Show has in store for comedy fans.

Besser, Poehler, Roberts, and Walsh co-founded the UCB in the early ‘90s with Adam McKay, Rick Roman, Horatio Sanz, and Drew Franklin. In 1998, Poehler, Roberts, Walsh, and Besser starred in Comedy Central’s Upright Citizens Brigade sketch comedy TV series, which ran for three seasons. The UCB went on to open two theaters in New York and two theaters in Los Angeles, in addition to its popular training centers.

Seeso is currently in Beta at Seeso.com, and anyone can join for the free period if they can answer one of the comedy trivia questions posted on the site. The first episode of The UCB Show is already online, and it will be joined by other originals, including Hidden America with Jonah Ray, Harmonquest with Dan Harmon, and The Cyanide and Happiness Show. Seeso also has a lot of classic NBC series, including Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Office, and Saturday Night Live. If you love British comedy, Seeso also has the original version of The Office, Fawlty Towers, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, The World of Alan Partridge, and Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Seeso will officially launch in January, and the subscription fee will be $3.99.
