Unite Azeroth with WARCRAFT Alliance and Horde Pie

After what feels like eons in the making, the Warcraft film adaptation finally opens in theaters tomorrow, June 10. And whether you’re Alliance or Horde, one thing’s certain: the best way to unite against a common enemy is with pie. This Warcraft pie is filled with berries, blue blackberries, and blueberries for the Alliance side and red raspberries and strawberries for the Horde.

Yesterday, I taught Nerdist’s own Dan Casey and Rachel Heine how to make this delectable dessert on our weekly Facebook Live show, Put This In Your Mouth!

As you can see, this two-sided dessert is a delicious way to welcome Warcraft to the big screen. Eat or perish!

Warcraft Alliance and Horde Pie
You’ll need:
-9-inch pie plate
-3-inch Alliance cookie cutter
-3-inch Horde cookie cutter

Crust ingredients:
-2 ready-made pie crust doughs
-1 egg plus water for egg wash
-Sugar for sprinkling

Filling ingredients:
-2 cups blueberries
-1 cup blackberries
-Zest of half a lemon
-3 Tablespoons white sugar
-2 Tablespoons brown sugar
-2 Tablespoons cornstarch
-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-Pinch of salt

-2 cups strawberries, quartered
-1 cup raspberries
-zest of half a lemon
-3 Tablespoons white sugar
-2 Tablespoons brown sugar
-2 Tablespoons cornstarch
-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-Pinch of salt

Roll out one pie crust to fit the pie plate, press into the bottom and sides. Crimp the edges around the pie.

In one bowl, toss the blueberries and blackberries with lemon juice, sugar, brown sugar, corn starch, and salt.

In a second bowl, toss the strawberries and raspberries with lemon juice, sugar, brown sugar, corn starch, and salt.

Pour the blueberries and blackberries onto one side and the strawberries and raspberries onto the other side.

Roll out the second pie dough and cut out Alliance and Horde symbols. Place the Alliance cut-outs over the blue-side berries in an overlapping pattern and the Horde symbols over the red berries in a similar pattern.

In a small bowl whisk the egg and 1 tablespoon of water and brush over the cut out dough. Sprinkle with sugar.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Place filled pie plate on a baking sheet and bake for one hour.

Let the pie cool completely, then serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
