Note: The video above contains spoilers for the Uncharted series.Â
With HD remasters seemingly around every corner these days, the decision to bring the trilogy of Nathan Drake’s epic adventures with the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to the PS4, ahead of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s launch, was an obvious one. Sony’s poster boy has been through a lot over the years, cheating death while escaping every vehicle he decided to board, and finding treasure, love, and truths about his past along the way. Sony dropped a trailer earlier today, showcasing all of that and more, and I have to say, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic now.
The trailer (above) kicks off with the sentimental moment in which Frank Sullivan (Sully) decides to take a young Nathan Drake under his wing as his protegé and future best friend. It’s been an emotional ride for sure, but it’s almost time for our fearless adventurer to hang up his scarf, ring, and guns for good.
In addition to the trailer, Sony has also revealed more details about the collection’s difficulty levels. Alongside new trophies and a photo mode, all three games will be getting a Brutal Difficulty Mode–which is unlocked after beating the game on the crushing difficulty mode–as well as an Explorer Mode, which is tailored to those looking to enjoy the story without too much hassle.
Interestingly, Sony is also adding a Speed Run Mode to the mix. You’ll be able to time and compare your runs with friends via the new leaderboards. It seems the company has taken note of the speed-run phenomenon, and used it to their advantage to add a whole new layer of re-playability to the series.
Also, the collection will include a whopping 65 character skins. Want to play through the entire series as Doughnut Drake? Go right ahead!
