By now it’s no secret: we are thoroughly obsessed with Mad Max: Fury Road. And that particular sort of obsessive love goes doubly for the movie’s star — sorry, Max Rockatansky — Imperator Furiosa, played by the undeniably badass Charlize Theron. Her turn as the unbelievably strong and tenacious road warrior was a squee-inducing joyfest for this particular female nerd for its incredibly feminist portrayal of getting shit done despite the odds.
And now? Combined with the magical earworm that is the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme song? It’s a miracle (of awesomeness)!
Considering the similarities between the themes of Fury Road and Kimmy Schmidt — a bunch of trapped women underground by a scary white man — the mash-up becomes a highlight reel of all the awesome badassitude displayed by Furiosa, the Wives, and the Green Place clan put on display during the film’s high-octane good times.
Because AHHHHH FURIOSA IS THE BEST! Like the actual, literal best! Can we get a Furiosa and the Wives spin-off feature? What about a prequel with her the origin story? I mean we know there’s gotta be more story there. So we need answers. She’s alive, damnit! It’s a MIRACLE!
