As the countdown to a new Star Wars film gets smaller and smaller, the hype has fully awakened. Trailers and teasers and photos aren’t ever enough, so fans have to constantly create their own films, tributes, and parodies to ease the pain of not having The Force Awakens yet.
These fan films can run from cheap to very expensive, but the passion is the same. However, I believe this video is the first time actual fighter jets were used to pay tribute to Star Wars.
The crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower utilized all the resources at their disposal to create a shot-for-shot remake of the first teaser trailer for The Force Awakens, called Sea Wars: The IKE Awakens. Like other fan films, liberties had to be taken. BB-8 is now a mop bucket. Rey’s speeder is a transport truck. Oh, and did I forget to mention the X-wings were replaced with FIGHTER JETS? You know what? They can take any liberties they want.
Here is the original Force Awakens trailer, so you can compare and see just how well the Eisenhower’s crew did:
I am definitely looking forward to seeing their parody of A New Hope, and how they plan on recreating the Death Star.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters and IMAX on December 18th.
So what do you think? What would you like the crew to take a crack at next? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
