TWIN PEAKS Themed Pop-Up Dining Experience Coming to the U.K.

If you’re a hardcore fan of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s cult classic television series Twin Peaks, and you happen to be in London from August 27th till October 16th of this year, then you’ll definitely want to visit The Owls Are Not What They Seem, which is being described as an “immersive dining experience.” It’s essentially a pop-up restaurant, which is being named for one of the cryptic clues given to FBI Agent Dale Cooper on the show by a supernatural giant. The pop-up, temporary diner will almost certainly feature cast members interacting with patrons as characters from the series. The experience is curated by event company Lemonade and Laughing Gas and food designers Blanch & Shock.

If you want to experience a night out in Twin Peaks, it’s not going to come cheap; tickets to the three-course meals will run at just over $100, and include a cocktail and admission to the “drinking den.” The full dinner experience, for patrons 18 and over only, is meant to simulate “a tour of the town, and a stop at the Double R Diner, with some familiar faces here and there,” according to the event’s website. The bar portion of the experience is meant to simulate the RoadHouse, Twin Peaks’ local watering hole, and of course there will be the inevitable Red Room/Black Lodge experience, which frankly, has the potential to be terrifying and not appetizing at all. (I’d still eat there in a heartbeat, though.) Though the menu hasn’t been released, I think one can count on pie, coffee, and donuts being made available. I mean, they kind of have to, right?

Right now, this pop-up restaurant is only scheduled to show up in the U.K., but since it’s a travelling deal, who knows, maybe The Owls Are Not What They Seem will show up stateside. Fans needed something to tide us over now that Twin Peaks return has been delayed till 2017, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
