TWIN PEAKS Adds Ana de la Reguera and Hugh Dillon to the Cast

Although there is supposedly only a month or so left in filming for David Lynch and Mark Frost’s revival of their legendary ’90s TV series Twin Peaks, that hasn’t stopped them from continually adding new cast members to the production. The latest to join the Showtime series are actors Ana de la Reguera (Narcos) and Hugh Dillon (The Killing).

The pair join a long list of new (and well known) faces to the world of Twin Peaks, including Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Judd, Tom Sizemore, Balthazar Getty, Patrick Fischler, David Dastmalchian, Grant Goodeve, Larry Clarke, and Caleb Landry Jones.

Of course, most of the original cast from the series is coming back as well, although so far, only Kyle MacLachlan has been officially confirmed to return as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. All other original cast members are known because they were spotted on location in North Bend, Washington last year, when Twin Peaks was still filming on location. In fact, almost all of the surviving original series cast members are known to be coming back, with the notable exceptions of Michael Ontkean — who has been replaced by Robert Forster in the role of Sheriff Truman — and Lara Flynn Boyle. Other original cast members that so far aren’t confirmed to be returning are Piper Laurie, Joan Chen, and Heather Graham, although there’s still time for them to return in some form.

The new season of Twin Peaks is set to hit in early 2017 on Showtime. No word yet on exactly how many episodes are coming, although recent rumors suggest it could be anywhere from 18 to 20, which probably means not one season, but two. As with all things to do with Twin Peaks, the exact specifics of it all remain a mystery.
