TV-Cap: Watch a 6 Minute SUPERGIRL Preview, Photos from THE FLASH Season Finale, & More

Today is a different day than yesterday. For all the obvious reasons, of course, but also because we have now seen a preview of Supergirl! It made the fact that a Supergirl series is coming to primetime real for me. And in case you haven’t seen said preview yet, don’t worry, we have it for you. Keep scrolling to see the Supergirl trailer, to view photos from The Flash Season 1 finale, and to see Bradley Cooper in CBS’s Limitless.

Meet Kara Zor-El. After previously dropping a single photo showing off Melissa Benoist in the Supergirl costume, CBS went all in and shared a six minute preview of the upcoming Supergirl series at Upfronts yesterday. The show will air on Mondays this fall (opposite of Gotham) and shows Kara at a time where she’s done keeping her super powers a secret. She’s stepping into the spotlight and that means balancing her day job with a tough-as-nails boss and working for a secret agency that fights threats, including aliens. Whew. The preview gives us a peek at the characters and overall tone, and I’m feeling mighty optimistic. [Nerdist]

Mystery Solved. The rumored cancellation of CSI is in fact true. Sorry, CSI fans. CBS announced the long running series is over but will wrap up with a two hour finale special on September 27. The event will feature appearances from former cast members such as William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger. But, the franchise isn’t entirely dead. CSI: Cyber continues and will do so with Ted Danson. [Hitfix]

The Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale

Say Farewell. The Season 6 finale of The Vampire Diaries airs tonight on The CW. It’s a momentous occasion bigger than the end of a season–this is Nina Dobrev’s last episode. Will Elena Gilbert die? Will she remain a human? There are so many possibilities, and while I don’t have any answers, I feel safe about guessing that there will be tears. Flip through more photos from “I’m Thinking of You All the While” at TV Fanatic.

Not Kidding Around. Season finales are perfect occasions to pull out all the big guns, and that’s what Marvel did with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The two-hour Season 2 finale brought all the arcs of the season together with one impactful punch, and it didn’t hold back the surprises. Read Joseph’s review of “S.O.S.”

About That Spinoff. While we’re on the subject of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., let’s discuss the recently rumored spinoff. The subjects of said spinoff would have been Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). The initial reaction of many fans upon hearing that concept was along the lines of, “Nooo! They’re two of the best things about S.H.I.E.L.D.” ABC entertainment president Paul Lee more or less agrees. He told reporters before Upfronts on Tuesday that “We thought the right thing now is to leave them on S.H.I.E.L.D., because S.H.I.E.L.D. is so strong on the moment.” Good call, sir. The Flash Season 1 finale

A Final Fight. Can Barry Allen stop The Man in Yellow and save his mother? The Flash Season 1 finale is quickly approaching, and Barry will have to make a life-changing choice. Whatever he faces, photos from the episode show he’s not alone. The S.T.A.R. Labs team is at his side as usual but so are Dr. Martin Stein and Ronnie Raymond. See 20 photos from “Fast Enough” at Comic Book Resources. The episode airs Tuesday, May 19.

Take This Pill. Media goes back and forth between the small screen and the big one. Limitless, the 2011 film, is headed to CBS as a television series this fall. And oh yeah, Bradley Cooper will reprise his role as Eddie Mora in the first episode and possibly recur throughout the season. Jake McDorman is in the lead though; he plays Brian Finch, a man who takes a drug known as NZT and then is forced to use his new drug-fueled smarts to work with the FBI–specifically with Jennifer Carpenter’s character. Aging is Dangerous. Pretty Lake is in trouble. An outbreak starts wiping out the residents of the town in Netflix’s original series Between, specifically residents over the age of 22. Gives a whole new meaning to turning 21, huh? The survivors are left to well, survive, on their own in the quarantined city until the mystery is solved. It sounds like things are going to get uncomfortable. Between drops on Netflix on May 21. [Slashfilm]
