The good and bad part about keeping tabs on television is that I constantly find new shows to add to my list. I enjoy viewing different series, but there are only so many hours in the week and only so much space on my TiVo. The struggle is real. Today’s round-up makes me want to put Reign in my queue. Should I catch up? Queen Elizabeth I is coming to the series. Other TV news for today includes the latest trailer for Daredevil, a departure on Sleepy Hollow, and much more.

Meet Kingpin. The latest trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil has arrived and it tells us more about Matt Murdock’s motivations and introduces Kingpin. It has a very Batman vibe, but if any Marvel series can carry the weight of that tone, it’s Daredevil. Keep your eyes on the trailer to see a peek at the accident that takes away Murdock’s sight but gives him the ability to see the world in another way. [Nerdist]

Lucifer’s Partner. Fox’s Lucifer pilot has added a new character–new as in not pulled from the comic book. Chloe is a LAPD homicide detective who gets paired up with Lucifer, the lord of hell, to solve a murder. She will be played by Lauren German (Chicago Fire). Is it bad that I’m already worried about romantic tension? [CBR]

Not So Fast. Fox has been working on a remake of the British series Luther, but they’ve had to pull back because they haven’t found anyone to take the lead role. They’re going to put things on hold until pilot season is over and then resume casting. It’s probably for the best. I can’t imagine it will be easy to find someone to live up to Idris Elba’s performance as Luther. [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Cat and Mouse Game Continues. The UK crime drama The Fall has been renewed for a third season. BBC just gave the greenlight for a five episode season of the show starring Gillian Anderson (Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson) and Jamie Dornan (Paul Spector). That’s fortunate because Season 2 ended on quite the cliffhanger. BBC drama controller Ben Stephenson said, “The story is far from over.” And if you’re curious about The Fall, it’s available to stream on Netflix. [Deadline]

A Witness No Longer. Sleepy Hollow showrunner and executive producer Mark Goffman is leaving the supernatural town where nothing stays normal for long and stepping down. Deadline reports Goffman has inked a two-year deal at CBS TV Studios to supervise and develop new projects. No replacement has been announced for the show’s third season, but Fox hasn’t renewed it yet anyway. [Give Me My Remote]

Going Solo. Comedian Hannibal Buress is taking center stage in his own series on Comedy Central. Why? With Hannibal Buress received an eight episode order, and the weekly half-hour series will premiere in July. The show will feature a variety of segments including stand-up bits, studio interviews, and man-on-the-street interviews. [Nerdist]

A Descent. Syfy aired the six hour event series Ascension at the end of last year, and there was some question about whether the space opera would be continued as a regular series. Syfy says it’s not to be though. They told Deadline, “We were very happy with Ascension as an event series, but with so much high profile development in the works, we have decided not to pursue a full series.” I didn’t watch Ascension, but I hope the high profile development Syfy is referring to is more actual sci-fi rather than over the top monster movies. Darkness on The Simpsons. Game of Thrones’s Carice van Houten will appear on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. She won’t be appearing as Melisandre in a parody, but as Annika, Milhouse’s Dutch cousin. We’ll see if her arrival means everything’s coming up Milhouse when the episode airs on May 3. [Nerdist]

Welcome Elizabeth. The CW’s Reign has found its Queen Elizabeth I. The character is being introduced in the Season 2 finale and will be a series regular next season. Rachel Skarsten (Lost Girl) will play the Queen of England, and series executive producer Laurie McCarthy says this Elizabeth is “a female monarch still in her 20s and early in her rule. The character is a beautiful, cunning and brave mix of opposites: a young woman hardened too soon by life’s events, but vulnerable when it comes to love.” [The Hollywood Reporter]
