TV-Cap: Teaser for HEROES REBORN, GAME OF THRONES Season 5 Photos, & More

It’s the day after the Super Bowl, and while I didn’t watch the Big Game, I am catching up on all the ads and trailers. I think it’s going to take all day. It’s like the Super Bowl is essentially hours of commercials that are occasionally interrupted by some football. Anyway, before I go back to watching ads that will make me cry, let’s talk about the latest and greatest happenings in television. We’ve got a look at Zachary Levi’s character in Heroes Reborn, a whole bunch of photos from Season 5 of Game of Thrones, deleted scenes from Parenthood, and much more.

Pretty Aurora. The Super Bowl brought the briefest of teases for Heroes Reborn. The highlight of said tease is the reveal of Zachary Levi’s character. We now know that when it’s cold outside, his character wears a parka. Seriously though, he does seem to be eyeing a little girl with special abilities in a villainous way. Oh man, how awesome would it be to see Levi as a villain?

[UPDATE: Our sources on the set of Heroes Reborn have confirmed that Zachary Levi is the big bad of the limited series. So who’s looking forward to evil Chuck?]

Here Kitty, Kitty. Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones has added another character from the comic books: Patricia Walker, aka Hellcat. They’ve cast Rachael Taylor (Grey’s Anatomy) in the role. [Nerdist]

Exploring Is Neat. HBO is going on an adventure with a Lewis and Clark miniseries, and the show has quite the team behind it. Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Dede Gardner and Gary Goetzman are serving as executive producers, and Casey Affleck and Matthias Schoenaerts will star as Lewis and Clark. The six-hour miniseries is based on Undaunted Courage by Stephen E. Ambrose. [Variety]

The Tears Aren’t Over. Parenthood might be over, but it’s not done pulling at your heartstrings. NBC’s released three deleted scenes that will make you laugh and cry because that’s what the Braverman family does best. Watch Seth meet his grandson for the first time, see the family roasting Sarah about her exes, and more of Hank’s daughter Ruby. [Hitfix]

Cartoons Inspired By Toys. The world needs superheroes, and it also needs more cartoons on television. Warner Bros. is helping in both departments by pushing forward with all new animated content inspired by two of Mattel’s DC Comics toy lines: Batman: Unlimited and Super Friends. [Nerdist]

Photos Rule Westeros. Hot diggity dog, HBO spoiled Game of Thrones fans on Friday. They released the season five trailer and also 19 images from the upcoming season. We get a look at Cersei Lannister looking conniving as ever, new characters such as Doran Martell, and so much more. [Nerdist]

Extant Levels Up. Extant, CBS’ sci-fi thriller, has brought Jeffrey Dean Morgan on board as a series regular for season two. Papa Winchester is playing JD Richter who is described as “roguish womanizer and a cop of the future who is a mercenary/bounty hunter.” So, he’s Han Solo? Halle Berry’s Molly Woods isn’t going to put up with any of that. Nope. [TV Insider]

Arrow With a Side of Flash. Tuesday and Wednesday nights aren’t too far away, but if you simply can’t wait to visit Central City and Starling City, watch these clips from Arrow and The Flash. Barry gets flirty and adorkable, and Merlyn gets super serious and creepy. [Nerdist]

Spinoff With Gunn. Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) is set to co-star in a Criminal Minds spinoff opposite Gary Sinise. The backdoor pilot for the spinoff will drop into Criminal Minds this season and Gunn will portray international law expert Ally Lambert. We need Gunn in all the things so fingers crossed this spinoff does indeed take off. [Deadline]
