More like Krypton, maybe—Syfy has picked up a pilot for a Superman prequel. Green as Kryptonite. Syfy is betting on Krypton. The network has placed a pilot order for the series from executive producer David S. Goyer. Krypton will be set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet and will follow Superman’s grandfather “as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.” The drama will show how the legend began.
Confronting Demons. Ready for some strange happenings? And by strange, I mean bizarre as everything. The new trailer for Cinemax’s Outcast puts the emphasis on possession and oddities we’ll encounter along with our hero Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit). He’s become a man on a mission. Blowing It Off. The Russo Brothers are currently caught up with their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so they’re taking a break and working on a television project. They’re serving as executive producers on a 30-minute comedy for Showtime about weed. It’s untitled as of right now but will follow a family of marijuana growers who have to adjust their business model because of recent developments in legalization. [Indiewire]
Connecting Dots. Our own Dan Casey spoke with Simon Kinberg during a press day for X-Men: Apocalypse and asked him about how the X-Men movie universe will connect with upcoming shows like Legion and Hellfire. Try, Try Again. Locke & Key by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez has almost made it to the big and small screen a few times, but it’s time for another go. IDW Entertainment has announced they’ll produce a television adaptation with Hill on board as writer and executive producer for the series. IDW is shopping the project to networks and hoping for a straight to series order. The comic is popular with fans, and I could totally see it finding a home on a streaming service. [Nerdist]

Getting Crowded. Litchfield has become a busier place with 100 new inmates, and the existing inmates and guards are going to have their hands full in season four of Orange Is the New Black.
