TV-Cap: SLEEPY HOLLOW Renewed for Season 3, New GAME OF THRONES Clips, & More

Will someone please explain to me how it’s already Thursday? I blinked and the week slipped right by. At least it’s been entertaining. Example: last night’s Supernatural was gruesome and excellent, the Empire season finale was apparently intense, and new Game of Thrones clips and pictures have my mind spinning. See one of those clips below and continue on to learn the latest on Sleepy Hollow, Preacher, The Flash, and more.

“You Owe Me Nothing.” The only enjoyable part about playing the Game of Thrones waiting game is getting new material like photos and clips and over-analyzing all of it. We must keep ourselves entertained somehow. HBO kept us busy yesterday by releasing a pile of new photos and clips on Twitter. You can feast your eyes on Nell Tiger Free as Myrcella Baratheon in Dorne, the Sand Snakes, Trystane Martell, and more. And oh, the clips! I could listen to Varys and Tyrion talk forever and ever. Time Is Up. Need more from the realm of Westeros? Winter Is Coming pointed out Entertainment Weekly’s interview with an unidentified actor about said actor’s untimely death on the series. This person has been on Game of Thrones for several years and wasn’t expecting to have his or her character killed off based on the books. The actor says, “I thought this season I was going to have more to do, and I was really looking forward to that. And then I got my dates from my agent and I thought, ‘That doesn’t tally.’ Because there was no way if they were sticking to the books I should be in it for that number of weeks. It seemed to me they must be writing me out. The showrunners rang me and told me, ‘Your time is up in the series.'” Who will it be? [Winter Is Coming]

Witnesses, Rejoice! You can relax, Sleepyheads. Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for a third season. Clifton Campbell is stepping in to replace Mark Goffman as showrunner. All is right with the world. We don’t know how many episodes the next season will have (I’m hoping they’ll go back to 13 in order to create a tighter story), but I’m sure we’ll learn more soon. [Nerdist]

Running Hot and Cold. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will return to Central City next week as the balanced duo that is Captain Cold and Heat Wave. The CW has released a snazzy new poster to mark the occasion. I wonder if episodic posters will become a regular thing for The Flash and Arrow since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is releasing episodic art each week. [IGN]

More Detective Work. Amazon Studios has renewed the drama Bosch for a second season. The show focuses on cop Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) and is based on a series of novels by Michael Connelly. The next season will specifically focus on Trunk Music and The Drop. Season 1 debuted on February 13 and became the most watched title on Prime Instant Video. [Deadline]

No TARDIS Necessary. The Flash put all kinds of cards on the table in Tuesday’s episode. “Out of Time” dropped one shocking reveal after another but saved the best surprise for last. They’ve introduced time travel into the series. Oh yeah, they went there. Read Joseph McCabe’s recap of the crazy events.

Rumor Central. Take what I’m about to tell you with a hefty grain of salt. As in, a whole container of salt. A live-action Star Wars television series is rumored to be a thing that exists. A source told Making Star Wars that “a television series based in the Star Wars universe like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.EL.D. is ramping up a bit.” This isn’t the first time a Star Wars live-action series has been discussed. Years ago, George Lucas talked about a series called Underworld that would have been set in Coruscant underworld. As far as we know, that idea has been scrapped. But there’s plenty of potential and material to explore something else. Time will tell. [Star Wars Underworld]

A Tulip for Preacher. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ruth Negga is tackling a role from a different comic book universe. She’s been cast as Tulip, the female lead in AMC’s Preacher. The pilot is based on the comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and is being helmed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Tulip is the ex-girlfriend of Jesse Custer, and given what we’ve seen of Negga as Raina, I bet she’ll be great in the role. [Deadline]
