TV-Cap: See Team ARROW’s New Digs, Watch Footage from ONCE UPON A TIME Season 5, & More

The weekend was overrun in the best kind of way by film news about Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel from D23 Expo (we happen to have coverage, just saying), but that doesn’t mean all was sleepy on the television front. Grab a cuppa and enjoy these updates in today’s TV-Cap: Concept art for the new Arrow headquarters, photos from Season 6 of Downton Abbey, footage from the Once Upon a Time Season 5 premiere, and more.

Getting Fancy. Oliver Queen and his team sort of lost their home base under the Verdant night club thanks to Ra’s al Ghul in the last season of Arrow, so they’re due for a fresh start. To that end, they’ll be getting a fancy upgrade for Season 4 of Arrow. The executive producers revealed the new location to Entertainment Weekly, and Marc Guggenheim said the “Arrow Bunker” is all about space. “In designing the new lair, we had to think in terms of the much larger group that Oliver has now surrounded himself with and how Team Arrow is a much bigger enterprise.” We’ll have to wait until the season airs to learn how the swank location is being paid for. PS: I hope The Flash’s Cisco has stopped by to create tech that lets them instantly dress and undress those mannequins. Pausing to strip and dress mannequins seems like such a time-waster. [Nerdist]

Grab Raid. The latest bad guy to be added to the list of Kara Danvers’s foes in Supergirl is a pest. Hellgrammite, also known as Roderick Rose, is an insect-like villain—in the comics, he can produce cocoons to use against his enemies. Yuck. Justice Leak (Powers) has been cast in the role. [Entertainment Weekly]

It’s Snackin’ Time. It is always a good day to celebrate the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, right? Right. Our resident nerdy baker Jenn Fujikawa used the occasion of S’mores Day to create a Red Ranger S’more that looks delicious. Get the full recipe right this way.

A Bad Sign. The end of Season 4 of Once Upon a Time featured Emma becoming the Dark One to save Regina and all of Storybrooke. Her level of power makes the turn dangerous, and now, it looks like she’s in another world. At a panel at D23 Expo, the series co-creators and a few cast members shared the first five minutes of the Season 5 premiere. I’m feeling concerned, guys. But hey, Merida’s going to be in premiere episode and Amy Manson looks perfect as the redheaded archer. [The Hollywood Reporter and Oh My Disney]

Adaptation Update. Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist has been adapted into a film already, but it’s also headed to the small screen courtesy of A&E. The network is developing the show with Jeff Davis as showrunner (he has the same role on MTV’s Teen Wolf). Davis spoke with Artist Alley podcast about the adaptation and expanding the book to a longer format. He said, “The pilot will have elements from the book, but tell a new, different story. It will be, if the series goes forward, a whole lot darker. I never imagined myself doing a vampire show, actually, but something about this one kind of captured me. I don’t know how involved with the show I’ll be if it does move forward, but we’ll see.” He also discusses Teen Wolf and how he thought it was ending with Season 5. Read more at Screen Rant.

The Work Is Never Done. Being retired doesn’t mean much in the world of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s Red. Well, actually it means everything. The world focuses on Retired and Extremely Dangerous spies who come out of retirement to take care of business. You may be familiar with the comic from the film adaptation starring Bruce Willis, but there is another version headed to television. NBC has optioned the comic for an hour-long drama. More Red? I call this a win. Is there any chance whatsoever we can get Helen Mirren to reprise her role from the film though? [Nerdist]

Beginning of the End. Season 6 is the end of the road for Downton Abbey. The Crawleys and their downstairs staff will undoubtedly make a grand exit rife with drama because drama is the name of the game for the British soap opera. Recently released photos from the upcoming season show both smiles—Bates and Anna actually look happy!—and serious business looks. See more images at Deadline.

Going to Extremes. What’s black, white, and red all over? Netflix’s teaser for Season 4 of Longmire. The striking look ahead paints an intense portrait of things to come for Sheriff Longmire and his employees, friends, and family. The fourth season drops on September 10. [Give Me My Remote]

Everywhere You Look. Leveraging the impending return of Full House, the San Francisco Giants decided to make a spoof of the sitcom’s opening credits to promote their upcoming Full House celebration on September 30. Yes, you read every word of that sentence correctly. It’s rather adorable—the players completely nail the cheesy expressions. [Vulture]

When Remodeling Goes Doh! Do you love your favorite television series enough to replicate home decor from it? Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton do. The couple took a page out of The Simpsons’s decorating choices and turned their kitchen into a replica of the one seen in home of the Simpsons family in the cartoon. It definitely has charm.
