TV-Cap: New LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Trailer, HANNIBAL Season 3 Gags, and More

Do you know what will make your Monday morning better? TV-Cap! We’re kicking off the week with all the latest and greatest television news you might have missed since last Friday. Today’s round-up includes a shiny new trailer for Legends of Tomorrow, a gag reel from season three of Hannibal, photos for the midseason finale of Supernatural, our Doctor Who series nine finale after-show, and more.

Saving the World. I don’t think I’m ever going to get tired of hearing Rip Hunter tell his ragtag group that they’re not heroes, they’re legends. A new trailer for The CW’s superhero and villain time traveling team-up (say that ten times fast) show has me so jazzed. We’ve seen most of this Legends of Tomorrow footage before, but there are some new tidbits. [Nerdist]

A Nemesis. So far on Supergirl, we’ve seen Kara interact with her sister and her boss, but she doesn’t seem to have any other female interactions–I’m not counting Lucy just yet. That might change beginning with Episode 14. Italia Ricci (Chasing Life) will kick off a multi-episode arc then as Siobhan Smythe, a.k.a. Silver Banshee. Smythe will join the roster at CatCo and serve as a nemesis for Kara in the workplace and as Supergirl. [TV Guide]

One More Time. Idris Elba is back as John Luther for at least one more special (trailer above), and he attended a screening and Q&A in New York City last week. Rachael attended the Luther event and has some highlights right this way.

Going Home. The Time Lords returned in the Doctor Who series nine finale. The episode aired Saturday and sort of had some answers. Key phrase there being “sort of.” Kyle’s here to help you break it down with his review of “Hell Bent” and then with our fan show, The Doctor Who Companion (embedded above).

Rocking Out. Netflix is killing it in the “opening theme song for Marvel series” department–it’s a very specific category. The Jessica Jones intro was touched with noir, but guitarist Eric Calderone decided to put a different spin on the music by making it metal. I think Jessica would appreciate it. [Nerdist]

Lucifer Returns. Sam believes the solution to the Darkness can be found in the cage, and in the upcoming midseason finale (airing Wednesday, December 9) for Supernatural, it looks like he recruits Crowley to help him get down to business. Mark Pellegrino returns as Lucifer, and I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see what happened with Adam. Elsewhere, Amara is all grown up and facing off against Dean. Yikes. See more photos from the episode at TVLine.

Feeling > Thinking. Ugh. Ward is the worst. He’s caused more trouble on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. than any other character, and he’s left the team torn apart. Again. Bobbie, Hunter, and Mack are taking charge for the winter finale though (airing Tuesday, December 8), and the above clip shows they’re starting to formulate a plan. [Comic Book Resources]

Unexpected Laughs. Hannibal isn’t exactly a comedy on camera, but off camera, the actors have fun even when they’re in uncomfortable situations. The evidence is in this gag reel from season three. I’m charmed—especially by the fact that they used decidedly creepy music to accompany the silliness. [Nerdist]
