TV-Cap: New GAME OF THRONES Photos Tease Battle for Winterfell

The American Gods cast just keeps getting better and better. We have an update about the latest additions in today’s TV-Cap along with photos from the next episode of Game of Thrones, characters coming to Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow, and more. Let’s dive in.

To Battle! The next episode of Game of Thrones, the penultimate one of season six, is called “Battle of the Bastards.” It’s Jon Snow vs. Ramsay Bolton. Who will hold Winterfell when all is said and done? Jon has a giant, Ramsay has numbers. Pictures from the episode preview the fight ahead, and I’m already on edges. Ruff. Arrow has added a recurring vigilante to the roster for season five. Rick Gonzalez will play Wild Dog. Arrow will be mentoring this ex-Marine-turned-crime fighter. [TVLine]

A Bigger Reach. USA Network’s Mr. Robot made an impact. It’s smart television, to be sure—the sort of storytelling that can shape and influence the way we think. An upcoming special called Mr. Robot Decoded is going to break it down. The one-hour show will explore the “authenticity and societal impact” of Sam Esmail’s series. It will feature writers, experts, cast members, etc. discussing hacking and other relevant topics. Mr. Robot Decoded will air June 20 at 11:05p.m. on USA.

Steely Addition. Is the Justice Society already growing in Legends of Tomorrow? Deadline reports Nick Zano has been cast as Dr. Nate Heywood. In the comics, he’s also known as Citizen Steel. Hmm. [Comic Book Resources]

Enroll Now. Summer and school aren’t usually two words I like to see combined, but I’ll make an exception for Vice Principals. The upcoming HBO comedy will arrive on July 17. The show revolves around two vice principals who get tangled up in an ambitious battle to become the next school principal. Based on the above trailer, who do you think will take the title? Who Is He? What do you know about Rhaegar Targaryen in Game of Thrones? Off the top of my head, all I know is Dany’s dragon Rhaegal is named after him. Luckily, Michael Walsh is here to fill us in via his latest installment of History of Thrones. Read it here.

Yes and Yes. Bryan Fuller is nailing the casting portion of Starz’s American Gods. Two more wonderful names have joined the line-up: Orlando Jones and Demore Barnes. Jones will play Mr. Nancy—isn’t it glorious?!—and Barnes will be playing Mr. Ibis. Man, I really need to reread the book. [Nerdist]

Make a List. It’s summer, and for some of us, that means hiding indoors with the air conditioning and binging all the things. If you’re longing for some new anime to digest, Dan has you covered in the latest The Dan Cave. [Nerdist]

Not So Shabby. Guillermo del Toro is working with DreamWorks Animation to make Trollhunters for Netflix, and during an appearance at the Annecy Animation Festival, he dropped some news about the voice cast. Here’s who’s on board in the adventure series: Anton Yelchin, Kelsey Grammer, and Ron Perlman. Yep. They’re doing okay. [Nerdist]

Voltron Everywhere. Netflix has revived the Voltron franchise. Fans seeing DreamWorks Animation’s Voltron: Legendary Defender on the streaming service for the first time might benefit from learning about Brotrons. The above video says it all. (And yes, it is a joke—a corny, delightful joke).

Who do you think will emerge victorious in the battle of the bastards? Share your picks in the comments.
