We are one week from the official release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. What does that have to do with TV-Cap? Nothing, technically, but Star Wars is all around us these days. Like the Force. On to news that is actually related to television: Today’s round-up includes Downton Abbey actors performing a scene with American accents, word about awesome people interested in doing cameos for the Mystery Science Theater 3000 reboot, a few renewals, and more.

The Best Deal. The details about the return of Mystery Science Theater 3000 are only getting better. It’s the opposite of what Lando said in The Empire Strikes Back (I won’t mention Star Wars again, I promise). In the latest update, Joel Hodgson has listed actors interested in cameos as long as they can make schedules line up. Those actors include Mark Hamill, Joel McHale, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jack Black. Taking Aim. Is there a word for a teaser that’s only 10 seconds long? Shouldn’t it be called a “don’t blink or you’ll miss it?” That’s sort of what this look at Season 4 of The Americans is, but since it’s the first glimpse of the next season, we’ll take it. It features Elizabeth holding a gun, ready to fire. No premiere date has been set yet for the show. [Slashfilm]

No Wasting Time. Netflix’s Grace and Frankie is on the fast track. Only one season of the series has aired so far, and Netflix gave a greenlight for Season 2 back in May. Not too shabby. Even more impressive is that series already has an unofficial go ahead for Season 3. They’re already in the pre-production stage. [Deadline]

A Different Fight. Next Monday’s Supergirl will see Cat Grant face a tricky problem: she’s been hacked. “Hostile Takeover” will put the CatCo boss in a difficult situation, and she’s coping in various ways–including eating M&Ms. The above clip shows Kara giving her advice. [Comic Book Resources]

Accolades Aplenty. The nominations for the Golden Globes were announced Thursday. There are some names on the list I’m thrilled to see recognized–specifically actors from Mr. Robot and Outlander–and as usual, I’m reminded that there is so much television. I’ll never have time to watch it all, but I’m going to attempt to add a few new series to my schedule. Read the complete list of nominees at Variety.

A New Arrival. Fox has announced a second season for the M. Night Shyamalan produced Wayward Pines. A 10-episode Season 2 will air next summer with new showrunner Mark Friedman at the helm. The story will pick up where Season 1 left off with a new arrival in Wayward Pines. [TVLine]

Less Than Classy. Stephen Colbert is doing important work. He had a few cast members from Downton Abbey on The Late Show, and he put them to the test. He wanted to see how much their elegant British accents contribute to the drama of the series, so he had Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech perform a scene with American accents. The results are amusing. And yeah, British accents make a difference. [Vulture]

Wrapping It Up. HBO has announced The Leftovers will air for one more season. The show will have Season 3 to wrap up, and though I know people will be sad to hear it’s coming to an end, it’s not always a bad thing. Series creator Damon Lindelof said, “As we finished our most recent season, it became clear to us that the series as a whole was following the same model…and with our beginning and middle complete, the most exciting thing for us as storytellers would be to bring The Leftovers to a definitive end.” Complete stories are neat. What a Catch! The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow will be in our eyeballs in just over a month, and they’ve been prepping and filming for a while. Episode 8 is in production, and series executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared that none other than Joe Dante is directing. How awesome is that? [Nerdist]
