TV-Cap: It’s Official – GILMORE GIRLS is Coming Back

Fellow Stars Hollow fans, our day has come. Netflix has finally confirmed they’re reviving our beloved Gilmore Girls. Dreams do come true. Read more about the revival plans in today’s TV-Cap. You’ll also learn who is coming back to Gotham this season, who’s joining the Mr. Robot cast for season two, and what Sophie Turner has to say about Sansa’s evolution in the next season of Game of Thrones.

More Heroics Ahead! The Justice League is jumping back into the fray in a new Cartoon Network series called Justice League Action. It’s not pulling any punches and will star Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman with the likes of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Batman and the Joker. The episodes will be 11 minutes each, and we’ll keep you posted on the premiere date. [Nerdist, Image: Cartoon Network]

The Host Gig Goes To… Melissa McCarthy is coming back to Saturday Night Live. She’ll host the sketch show on February 13. [Deadline]

Unwanted Attention. The Evil Corp hack in Mr. Robot was big enough to draw the eyes of all sorts of organizations–including the FBI. Grace Gummer has been cast in the second season as FBI field agent Dominique “Dom” DiPierro. She’ll be trying to track down fsociety members. Ruh-roh. [Nerdist]

Mulder and Tech. The next installment of The X-Files airs tonight, February 1, and a clip from the episode is very amusing. Mulder tries to use recordings on his phone to show Scully the monster he encountered, but he doesn’t so much succeed on the technology front. At all. [Nerdist]

Shiny Awards. The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on January 30, and television shows such as Downton Abbey and Orange Is the New Black took home awards. Read the complete list of winners at IGN.

It’s All Happening. Rory and Lorelai Gilmore are coming back, friends! A Netflix revival of the Gilmore Girls has been rumored, and now it’s officially been confirmed. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, and Kelly Bishop are all slated to come back with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino at the helm. Graham confirmed the scripts are seasons, telling TVLine she’s read “Winter,” “Spring,” and “Summer” but not “Fall.” So, it looks like the part about the revival being four parts is true. She said, “I was completely satisfied with these scripts. It’s what I hoped it would be.” I might be weeping with joy. [Nerdist and TVLine]

R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark has been through the ringer. She’s been treated poorly all over Westeros, but she might be poised to take the lead. She told Entertainment Weekly that season six is probably Sansa’s best season yet, and that the character “really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.” Excellent. Teasers in Legends. The premise of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow means characters from across space and time in the DC Universe could appear. The DC Comics Instagram teased two characters over the weekend with photos of two props: a large metal helmet and an hourglass. They’re tied to Red Tornado and Hourman. Learn more about the Easter egg images at Comic Book Resources.

Stop reading now if you don’t want to hear about which character is coming back to Gotham.

Can’t Keep Her Down. Does death mean anything in the world of comic books? I don’t think so. It certainly doesn’t in the case of Fish Mooney on Gotham. Jada Pinkett Smith is returning in the role; she’s reportedly agreed to come back for a multi-episode arc happening in the second half of season two. Hmm. [Nerdist]
