How is everyone today? I understand that you still may be experiencing feelings from last night’s finales of Parks and Recreation and Marvel’s Agent Carter. I recommend eating those feelings in the form of waffles and bacon. It’s the only way. Before you head to the nearest breakfast food establishment though, take a moment to catch up on the latest TV happenings. Keep reading for a delightful Game of Thrones gag reel, an interesting possibility for Supergirl, a clip from tonight’s Arrow, and more.
Don’t Underestimate Thea. Oliver Queen’s little sister knows everything now. She’s learned the truth about everyone’s secret identities and what Malcolm Merlyn forced her to do. Merlyn is no longer someone she wishes to associate with and a clip from tonight’s episode of Arrow shows she’s willing to sell him out to Ra’s al Ghul. And this isn’t in the clip, but we’ll also see Ray Palmer in the Atom suit tonight. Cue flailing. [CBR]
Jesters of Westeros. Game of Thrones isn’t a happy show unless you have a really screwed up definition of happy. There are some laughs, but mostly, it’s hard-hitting and brutal. In the best way. It’s not the same behind the scenes, and HBO has released a gag reel sure to make you smile. Watch it here at Nerdist.
A Super Appearance. Superman might be coming to CBS’s Supergirl. Sort of. KryptonSite noticed a listing for Supergirl stating they’re looking for “body double for a DC Comic Superhero.” They say candidates should be 5’11” or taller and be “square jawed and have a ripped physique.” Interested applicants should put “SUPERMAN” in the subject line. Interesting. They’re also casting 6-9 month old identical twin boys and identical twin girls. Maybe the babies will be younger versions of Superman and Supergirl? [TVLine]
Play “The Imperial March.” Star Wars Rebels wraps up its first season next week, and Lucasfilm and Disney have released a trailer that paints a bleak picture. The crew of the Ghost go after Kanan in “Fire Across the Galaxy” and their actions leave Kanan and Ezra face to face with The Inquisitor. Oh, and Darth Vader is back. Yikes. [Nerdist]
Not On the Executioner’s Block. FX has cast several roles for its upcoming pilot for The Bastard Executioner. The period drama takes place during the reign of King Edward I and focuses on a former warrior who is world weary and tired of fighting until he has no choice but to take up his sword again. The cast includes Lee Jones in the starring role, Stephen Moyer, Katey Segal, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, and more. [The Hollywood Reporter]
Outbreak. Ready for more pilot casting? Julie Plec’s upcoming pilot for The CW has found its leads. Cordon is set in Atlanta after a deadly epidemic has struck the city. David Gyasi (Interstellar), Christina Moses, Chris Wood, and Kristen Gutoskie are on board as Alex Carnahan, Jana, Jake, and Katie respectively. [Deadline]
And So It Begins. Only four episodes of Better Call Saul have aired so far, and the series is continuing to make an impression. I see a lot of positive buzz about the show focused on Jimmy McGill, not the least of which is from Scott Weinberg’s reviews. Read his thoughts on the latest episode, titled “Hero.”
Thor On SNL. Chris Hemsworth will host Saturday Night Live for the first time on March 7. He’ll be joined by the Zac Brown Band. I expect at least one Mjölnir joke. [TVLine]
