Happy Wednesday, TV-Cap fiends! It’s your hump day fix, ripe and ready for ya. Because we could all use a bit of a brain break, today’s television trip will be mostly video in nature — with a few images to boot because, bleck, who likes reading? — and is sure to satisfy your cravings for all the news you may have missed in the past 24 hours. Have a life? A job? A child and/or actual, real-life pressing obligation? Not to worry! These bite-sized tidbitties will get you everything you need to know and nothing that you don’t. So take a stroll down small screen way and see what’s doing. It’s good for your health!

New Who Images: Oh, Doctor. What are you getting at in these new images from Doctor Who? [Nerdist]

We’re All Stars Now, in the Freak Show: Did you know American Horror Story: Freak Show doesn’t premiere until October? You’d never guess that was the case, given the veritable onslaught of promotional materials that seemingly appear without warning from the ether, reminding us that creepmaster general, Ryan Murphy, is at it again. Today we’ve got not one but two new teaser videos PLUS a smorgasbord of character photos so feast yer eyes, motherlickers! The rest of the photos can be found at… [E! Online]

Your New True Detectives: …are Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. So there’s that. [Nerdist]

Bill Hader’s Talk Show Ambitions: Following in Nasim Pedrad’s footsteps with her Aziz Ansari bit, Bill Hader visited Craig Ferguson’s show to discuss his own lost Saturday Night Live sketch. True to weirdo Hader fashion (we say that with love, trust), it involved a Silence of the Lambs-themed talk show. Somebody get me some Chianti! [IFC]

Stop! SleepyCast Time: Clarke Wolfe got to speak with Mark Goffman, Alex Irvine, and perhaps the nicest man to interview in all of Hollywood (seriously he’s the peachiest and was the first-ever celebrity interview of my career): John Noble for the season two premiere episode of the official Sleepy Hollow podcast so GET AWN IT: [Nerdist]

Do You Need a Playstation TV?: The Daily Dot has a great write-up that asks and answers tons of questions you might have about the necessity of the device, which will soon bring us the gaming megacompany’s original streaming series starring Shartlo Copley, Powers. [Daily Dot]

More Broad City Alert!: Ugh, today’s one of those days where we totally needed a bit of stonergirl goodness. Enter: Broad City‘s mini-webseries, Hack into Broad City, with a second episode that involves the merits (or demerits) of chewing gum and a pair of fake breasts because that’s a thing and ugh these two are just the best, aren’t they? The best.

Does Everyone Secretly Watch The Big Bang Theory?: No, seriously. I’m curious. How many readers of The Nerdist are a fan of The Big Bang Theory? I’m not trying to be overly mean, it’s just that the series had its season premiere last night and 18.1 million members of the American populace out there tuned in. 18.1 million pairs of eyeballs were glued to their television screens watching television — live! — last night in hopes of hearing the return of the almighty bazinga, and call me a snob if you must, but I am very confused. That is SO many people! And all you hear or see out there in the world is hate for the show. Heck, even Jim Parsons said there’s “no accounting for taste” when he won his Emmy for his work as Sheldon on the series, so I mean! I just! It’s confusing, is all. Besides, I was unaware that many people even still watched television (I kid, I kid). But seriously that is an actual, literal fuckton of people and it just boggles the mind a bit on several levels. Anyway, a good amount also watched Gotham (8.2 million), but I’m still stuck on this Big Bang nonsense. Truly. [TVLine]

OK seriously raise your hands in the comments if you watch The Big Bang Theory because clearly this can’t end here, can it?

I watch TBBT live and then watch Gotham on my DVR.  I’d rather save the darker show for when I’m in bed anyway. 🙂

  2. chmst says:

I have watched every episode of Big Bang Theory since they started and I saw the 2 episodes on Monday night, but I have to say I was disappointed in the 1st episode of the season.

  3. larry says:

I didn’t watch it live but fuck yea i watched Big Bang the show is good don’t be a hater

  4. I watched Big Bang Theory Monday evening.  While I do find the laugh track annoying I really enjoy the show.

  5. ClasikRok says:

I do watch Big Bang Theory. Its funny (most of the time), and has a lot of little nerdy easter eggs for us “true geeks.” I was not among those that watched the premiere live, but its waiting on my DVR for my consumption. I will say that it USED to be better, but its still good enough for 30mins of my time week to week.
