TV-Cap: AGENT CARTER Poster, THE COLBERT REPORT’s Final Guests, & a BROADCHURCH S2 Trailer

Hoo boy, this one’s a doozy, folks! Today’s TV-Cap is positively mental — driven mad by the sheer volume of things happening down below (ew not like that, ya creeps). Like Agent Carter‘s poster reveal, or the Golden Globes TV nominees. To say nothing of the latest Boy Meets World reunion happening on its spin-off series and the line-up for the final few episodes of The Colbert Report.

And, oh yeah, we’ve got a season two trailer for Broadchurch, too! We’re so excited and we just cannot hide it. Nope not at all. So let’s dig in, shall we?

Where in the World is Agent Peggy Carter?: Um somebody took some styling cues from Carmen Sandiego, huh? Listen, we’re not complaining — red and blue combined is one of our favorite color combinations, to say nothing of a jaunty hat — but it’s easy to see the comparisons, yeah? We’re so excited about Agent Carter so they could’ve put out a picture of nothing and we’d probably be interested. C’mon January 6th! [Entertainment Weekly]

Doctor Who‘s “Last Christmas” Trailer: It’s here! Watch it. Darkness awaits you. Santa? [Nerdist]

South Park Gets Meta: South Park‘s cheerily titled special, the “Washington Redskins Go F*ck Yourself Holiday Special” took out all the stops and mocked the TV Industry’s ridiculous obsession with snatching viewers on TV AND their “second screen” experience (a/k/a their phones). It includes Taylor Swift and Bill Cosby! And it’s not for the faint of PC heart. AWOOPS.#savethelivingroom #webelieveinyou (What about #makeitstop? Does that work?) [Deadline]

Golden Globes: The nominations came out yesterday morning — did you hear and see? They’re not bad! Not bad indeed (we’re so over-the-moon excited for Ava DuVernay’s Best Director nod for Selma it’s probably borderline creepy) — just look at some of these TV nominations! We’ve got Downton Abbey, The Affair, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and The Good Wife on the TV drama side. Over in comedy it’s Orange is the New Black, Girls, Jane the Virgin, Silicon Valley, and Transparent (!!!). All good things, folks, even if there wasn’t a nomination for Tatiana Maslany’s Orphan Black goodness (womp womp!). [HFPA]

The Matthews Brothers, Reunited: Last week nostalgia addicts from the nineties got the beautiful gift that was Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter were RE-U-NITED on Disney’s Girl Meets World. It sent the internet into a veritable tizzy of the highest order, but the Boy Meets World spin-off won’t stop there. Ben Savage Instagram’d a photo of Will Friedle (a/k/a Eric Matthews a/k/a Plays With Squirrels) on the set of the series and that sound you’re hearing is Tumblr collectively losing their gourd. The Calvary’s Past, Revealed: Blair Underwood has been cast to recur during Season 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as Melinda May’s estranged ex-husband, Dr. Andrew Garner, starting in March. Ooh la la! [TVLine]

Amy Schumer’s Hosting the MTV Movie Awards: April 12th, 2015! She even made a video about it in the most Schumer-y way possible. [MTV]

Parenthood is Ending: I mean, you all knew that, but Dax Shepard tweeted on Thursday that his last day of shooting on Parenthood was yesterday. OH, THE FEELS! The feels are SO REAL!

Colbert’s Last Guests: The Report may be coming to an end a week from yesterday (We know! We know! All of the sniffles shut up it’s just raining on our face) and now we know how he’ll bid it all farewell: Seth Rogen on the 15th; Kendrick Lamar on the 16th; National Book Award winner Phil Klay on the 17th; and on the 18th, “colleague and lifelong friend” Grimmy (a/k/a the Grim Reaper). HMMM WONDER WHO THAT’LL BE. [Vulture]

And Letterman’s Last Day?: May 20th, 2015. [Nerdist]

Broadchurch A/K/A Not Gracepoint, Season 2: There’s a new trailer for the original inspiration for Gracepoint. Yes, that’s right: the far-superior (sorry/not sorry, Fox) Broadchurch is coming back for a second season on BBC America and now we’ve got a look at what it’s all about. Ooh man it looks so good oh jeez oh gosh. HURRY UP, FEBRUARY 4th!

What are you more sad about? The end of Parenthood or The Colbert Report? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

FYI, I think you mean “cavalry” not “calvary.” Two very different things.
