Tracy Morgan to Make Movie Comeback in FIST FIGHT

Tracy Morgan is a brilliant actor and comedian, but he’s also a fighter. Last year, as you will remember, he was in a car accident that left him in a coma for eight days, and in recovery for fifteen months. Now the funnyman is back on his feet, and it’s fitting that his new role is in a movie called Fist Fight.

We don’t have a lot of details about the project yet, but we can report that it’s a comedy about two teachers who work in a broken-down school system. Richie Keene (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will take the director’s chair, and the script is being penned by first-time feature writers, Evan Susser and Van Robichaux.

Morgan will be joined in the cast by Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who plays the more mild-mannered of the two teachers, and Ice Cube, who plays the tougher guy. And you guessed it — these two will be going head-to-head in a fist-fight. According to Variety, Morgan will play a coach who works at the school. The project starts shooting this month in Atlanta.

Last night, Morgan’s emotional appearance at the Emmy’s got him a standing ovation. If you didn’t catch it, take a look below:

At the event, he tweeted, “Man if it feels good to be back!! Love you all!” We love you too, Tracy. Cheers to your comeback, and I can’t wait to see you in the new movie.

Also, don’t forget to watch Saturday Night Live on October 17, when Morgan is the guest host.
