Weâre going to need someone to expelliarmus our hangover after a night of these Harry Potter-inspired shots.
Our fellow nerd brethren at Graphicnerdcity created these “Harry Shotters,” a different sort of potion that will allow you to properly toast to your favorite wizard or muggle (or to help drown the sorrow you experience when thinking about Dobby).
These potions, however, look more like something Professor Slughorn would spend his time “testing” than Professor Snape would, and their names would surely amuse Professor Dumbledore.
The pun-tastic shots are inspired by spells, characters, and a certain fatal tournament, that include: Avada Tequila, Triwshiskey Cup, Gin Weasley/Rum Weasley, Demintor, Expecto Patron, and Sectum Sambuca. The pictures certainly make them look like something only a wizard that had achieved an “Outstanding” on his N.E.W.T.S. could create.
(Tequila and Mountain Dew? Thatâs definitely an unforgivable concoction.)
Head over to see the rest of the great pictures and learn the recipes. Though, be warned, they admit “a couple of them are awful,” but just like an Every Flavor Jelly Bean youâll have to try them to know which ones taste good. If some of these are awful, how bad were the few shots that did not make the cut: Lord Vodkamort, Flourish & Blattoed, Cognac McLaggen.
In case you are not of the legal MUGGLE drinking age, or would like something to have with your kids, donât worry, there are plenty of Harry Potter-inspired drinks out there for you to have while re-watching the movies for the 80th time.
How about Pumpkin Juice, or non-alcoholic Butterbeer? In fact, you can throw an entire Harry Potter-themed kidâs party with appropriate food.
All of this creativity has me feeling like I drank some Felix Felicis and can offer my own suggestions, for muggles on both sides of the drinking age.
Non-Alcoholic:Â Polyjuice Potion
- 8 ounces of Vanilla Coke
- Big Scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
- Splash of Coconut Milk
- A Piece of Hair or Toenail of the person you want to change into (optional)
Blend everything together. Just like real polyjuice it wonât look pretty, but at least this one will taste good.
Adult:Â Confundo Chambordo
- ½ oz Chambord
- ½ oz Gin
- Splash of Bacardi 151
The Confundus Charm is designed to befuddle and confuse the victim. This will certainly do that to anyone that drinks it.
Help get the party started in the comments by offering up your own original Harry Potter-inspired drinks.
