Nerdist Presents Tom Hardy Going Full Bane in STAR WARS Deleted Scenes

After we’d all gotten our hopes up over the rumors that Tom Hardy had filmed a small cameo in The Last Jedi, he was nowhere to be found when we visited the galaxy far, far away. While we were disappointed Hardy didn’t survive the cutting room floor, he did show up when the movie got its digital home release last week, in a deleted scene that saw him playing a chatty stormtrooper. It is, to put it lightly, a bizarre scene. But it may not be the only time the actor put on the white mask for Star Wars. In fact, we have footage of even more lost Hardy scenes from the Star Destroyer. Turns out his unusual stormtrooper has been the bane of more than one director.

The latest remix from Nerdist Presents shows Hardy embracing the Dark (Knight) Side during the making of the sequel trilogy. It appears J.J. Abrams was looking for an actor with experience performing with a mask on, so it makes sense he tapped Hardy for multiple stormtrooper scenes.

After watching them, though, we can see pretty clearly why they didn’t make the final cut. Generally speaking, mask-wearing, garbled-voiced Hardy is usually a cinematic sight to behold, but perhaps this doesn’t quite mesh with the Star Wars universe as well as anyone had hoped it might.

Which anonymous stormtrooper in a Star Wars movie would you most like to imagine Tom Hardy playing? The comments section is yours! So share your funniest answer with us.
