TOKYOPOP: Cosplay Friday #13

As the great American poet R. Kelly once said, “This is the remix to ignition / Hot and fresh out the kitchen / Mama rollin that body / Got every man in here wishin.” Yet, the wordsmith neglects to tell us what the narrator is wishing for. Here at TOKYOPOP’s Cosplay Friday, we prefer to think that Mr. Kelly was wishing for more totally rad images of cosplay in his life, so we decided to grant said wish because it’s the freakin’ weekend, baby, we’re about to have us some fun. This is a very special edition of Cosplay Friday, because we also got to interview the lovely Amanda Avery, the Nicole Fury behind the oft-shared Avengers Bunnies Initiative, in today’s TOKYOPOP newsletter (to which you can subscribe)! Enough yappin’ from yours truly – let’s get to the cosplay!

We don’t know what that Super Soldier Serum did to Steve Rogers, but it looks like Cap is going by Stephanie now in Amanda Avery’s spot-on genderswapped Captain America.

The Avengers Bunnies are in their element and Amanda stays true to Tony Stark’s character by chugging a martini.

Somewhere, Billie Piper woke up in a cold sweat wondering if she was in the movie Face/Off because Amanda Avery looks so uncannily like her in this photo, it’s unnerving. When Piper sees her familiar face the mirror, she lets out a bittersweet sigh of relief – sweet because she still has her glowing good looks, but bitter because for one brief second she might have been Nicolas Cage. You’re welcome, Steven Moffat; I presume my check is in the mail.

We love ourselves some video game cosplay, but this guy takes it to the next level. His name is Starter, Party Starter.

Demons have never looked so dapper. Check out this awesome Ao no Exorcist cosplay from deviantART.com’s kayleighloire.

deviantART’s GreenGreenCat is simply in-Korra-gibile. Okay, yeah, I get it. I’ll see myself out, you guys.

The conquistadors never expected this dynamic duo! Say hello to Tulia and Michelle, on the road to Elle Dorado. This rad femme version of the Road to El Dorado lads comes courtesy of CourtoonXIII.

Let’s be honest – this is what you’re picturing when you’re reading about Russia in Axis Powers: Hetalia. You can thank Raskolnikova-Sonya for bringing your fan service-filled dreams to life. Although, it’s probably freezing in Russia, so we’re not sure why he took his coat off….

Astellecia is a Materia girl living in a Materia world. Check out her awesome Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy VII) cosplay.

Honestly, I had no interest in Steampunk until I came across this seriously dope Steampunk Nightwing cosplay. How badass would a brass-and-google-filled Bludhaven murder mystery be? Make it happen, DC!

What do you think? Quemment below and let us know! Got some hot cosplay tips or someone you think should be featured? Quemment or drop me a line on Twitter! Want even more content like this? Get the TOKYOPOP newsletter delivered to your inbox!
