Folks, this is not a drill. Sriracha is not a phase, I repeat: Sriracha is NOTÂ a phase. It has now become a way of life.
For years Sriracha was only found on tables in Asian restaurants and was lovingly nicknamed âHot Cockâ by spice fans due to the rooster on its label… and its fiery kick. This beloved sauce quickly took the food world by storm though, and it’s since gone mainstream. Now you can find it in everything from chocolate to popcorn.
This bold move in a battle for Americaâs tastebuds hasnât gone unnoticed. Even the king of condiments, Heinz, has now opened its arms to the spicy sauce and officially released a new tomato ketchup blended with Sriracha.
By the end of this month, Walmart, Target and other U.S. retailers will start to carry Sriracha Ketchup on their shelves. You can use it as you would ketchup, on burgers and fries, but why not take it a step further and add it to ramen, quesadillas, or yes, even ice cream?
Are you going to grab a bottle of Sriracha Ketchup? What will you pour it on? Let us know in the comments!
Sriracha is old news. This is the future http://www.crazybsauce.com/
You lost me at “ice cream.” Granted, they were the last two words of the article, but that question mark has been ignored.
Sriracha is not hot, wuss butts.
Absolutely not. I’ll be applying my Sriracha straight up without Heinz’ calling-card High Fructose Corn Syrup. If that’s the packaging, it’s stupid too.
while sriacha has entered my stable of always on-hand condiments (right next to the tabasco), no, I’m not getting sriracha ketchup. i’ll mix it myself, if I want it, but mostly the sriracha is for eggs and turkey sandwiches.
Truth be told, it’s likely cheaper to buy sriracha and ketchup separately – in case you have friends come by who don’t care for the heat (Yeah. I know… WHY are you friends with such dull people?) and mix it yourself to your own taste…
I put Sriracha Ketchup on my Ketchup.
Why do you need Sriracha ketchup? If you need your ‘Hot Cock’ sauce cut with red sugar paste, you shouldn’t be eating it in the first place, ya wuss! Sriracha and fries are just fine, thank you very much.
