In recent years, if you wanted to get a copy of Grim Fandango, you would have had to go through some real scumbag steps to play it legitimately after LucasArts all but abandoned the classic point-and-click adventure. Well, if you have a PS4 or Vita, you’ll be able to play it again – remade, no less – thanks to a port from Tim Schafer and Double Fine.
Sony didn’t show any footage from the Grim Fandango remake during the show, but we can expect it sometime next year.
Why in the text of the letter does Sally say she’s 12 and then in her signature she says she’s 10? What has our education system come to?! Or this is just a masterful “fake” and by masterful I mean lame.
It’s because Tim Schafer wrote the letter! Lol
By “scumbag steps”, I’m assuming you mean buy a used copy off ebay and play it? Just because the short used the child’s letter to take a jab at piracy doesn’t mean there aren’t legal routes.
You can’t play it directly off a disc — you’ll need to download SCUMVM and have it hack away it to make it run (like many of the old lucas arts games).
In essence, Tim seemed to be expressing the sentiment that it would be nice to have a way for everyone with modern devices (and probably eventually on modern pc machines) to play it, and I don’t fault that.
