What’s that? You say you’ve heard the Star Wars theme more times than just about any song that isn’t “Happy Birthday to You”? Ah, but you’ve never heard it like this!
Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, Maximilian Büsser and Friends have designed a music box to end all music boxes. Shaped like an Imperial TIE Fighter, the MusicMachine 3 plays of John Williams’ timeless anthems the way I’d imagine hearing them if I died, went to heaven, and spent my days in a swimming pool full of champagne whilst astromech droids fed me caviar.
Available in three limited editions — white, black, or chrome — of just thirty-three pieces each, this beauty is crafted by Swiss manufacturer REUGE, which “with nearly one hundred fifty years of expertise and experience” bills itself as “the only premier producer of music boxes in the world today.”
I don’t even want to think about how expensive this thing is, but its specs state that each of the vehicle’s twin ion engines is a musical cylinder, each of them playing three songs. You not only get the Star Wars theme, but the most sinister-sweet version of John Barry’s classic James Bond movie theme as well. Plus the themes to The Godfather, Mission Impossible, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, and TV’s The Persuaders. That’s a pretty eclectic mix.
What’s wrong, REUGE, no room for the themes from The Third Man or The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension?!
