It’s hard to find the right words to say when someone loses something special in their lives. Even harder when that special something was an extremely old family heirloom that just so happened to be forged in the heart of a dying star. The events of Thor: Ragnarok force us to say goodbye to Mjolnir when it’s destroyed by Hela and it seems Chris Hemsworth has finally tried to make peace with losing it by posting this video on Twitter.
“Sounds like you had a pretty special and intimate relationship with this hammer, and you losing it was almost comparable to losing a loved one.” – Korg (2017)

The short “in memoriam” clip is cut with a few scenes from the film, including those wise words by Taika Waititi’s Korg, along with a little something that didn’t make the theatrical cut. Thor, still feeling the sting of losing his signature weapon, seeks comfort in a similar tool that ended up in the fighting pits of Sakaar. We know a claw hammer can’t ever replace Mjolnir but that doesn’t stop Thor from trying. Grief can do some pretty crazy things to people so we don’t hold it against him for going for the familiar.
It seems Thor will find a new (old) boo in the upcoming Infinity War, as promotional posters show him wielding what looks like the battle axe known as Jarnbjorn. Hopefully this is more than just a rebound fling.
Do you miss Mjolnir as much as we do? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
