A lot of great shows are coming to the NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles this week. Shows like Talk Show The Game Show, The Great Debate, and What’s New. Plus, the Coming Soon art exhibition opens this week. Yes, yes, and one more yes, even!

October 5th at 2pm it’s Puppet Town!

Puppet Town is a sketch comedy show for kids…with puppets! Created by Alex Fox and Rachel Lewis.

Puppets! Music! Sketch Comedy! Fun! After a sold-out show in August, Puppet Town is back! With a cast of comedians from iO, Second City, Groundlings, and UCB, along with puppeteers from Broadway’s Avenue Q – it’s never ending fun inPUPPET TOWN!

Directed by Megan Grano (Jim Belushi and the Chicago Board of Comedy, former staff writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live).

This month’s show will also feature musical guests For The Record. Known for their hit show at L.A.’S Rockwell, For The Record adapts the work of great directors into a musical theater experience.

October 5th at 4pm it’s Stonecutters L.A. Treehouse of Horror Edition!

Expect special guests to drop in and screenings of everyone favorite episodes!

Hosted by NerdMelt’s own Kyle Clark and John Ungaro.

October 5th at 9pm it’s Guy Branum Presents Talk Show the Game Show!

With special guests Al Madrigal (The Daily Show), Jackie Kashian (Dork Forest), Ali Waller (American Dad), and DC Pierson (Crap Kingdom)

$8 in advance, $10 at the door.

October 6th at 8pm it’s Harmontown!

What is Harmontown? It’s awesome. It’s unique. It’s one of a kind. It’s something only Dan Harmon (creator of Community and the upcoming Rick and Morty) and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) can do. It’s a different show every time and it’s every week. Lucky us! Playing Dungeons and Dragons? It’s happened. Dan Harmon freestyle rapping? Yup, that too. Calling Chevy Chase from stage? Happened…more than once. A celebrity guest? Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs among others have all stopped in. Getting super personal with an intimate audience? Always. It’s Harmontown. It’s awesome. It’s unique. Don’t miss a single week.

$10.

October 7th at 7pm it’s Nerdist Open Mic!

nerdmeltopenmic NerdMelt Showroom

Come watch Kyle Clark and John Ungaro host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy.

Free.

October 8th at 7:30pm it’s The Great Debate: Girls vs. Golden Girls!

The Great Debate – Girls vs. Golden Girls: Who Empowers Us and Who are a Bunch of Stunted Oppressed Degenerates?

It’s the most important question in modern-day American society, and finally Matt Price (Emmy-winning writer for the Cartoon Network’s Regular Show) and Ilyse Mimoun (Hart of Dixie, 90210) have the courage to take this debate to the stage.

In the past, Price and Mimoun have sparred over “Ferris Bueller: Hero or Sociopath?” and “The Smurfs: Utopian Society or Brainwashed Cult?” But with “Girls vs. Golden Girls,” we’re talking about good vs. evil, Dorothy vs. Hannah, and cheesecake vs. butt plugs. The L.A. Weekly called the show “hilarious,” but there’s nothing hilarious being a stunted, oppressed degenerate, even if you get there by wanting a threesome with twins.

$8 in advance, $10 at the door.

October 8th at 9pm it’s What’s New!

What’s New is a live standup show and podcast that combines the awesomeness of stand up at the NerdMelt Showroom with the radicalness of insightful hilarity on the Nerdist Podcast Network into one incredible show all for FREE!

October 8, catch: Brent Morin (Undateable, Chelsea Lately, Conan), Jerrod Carmichael (The Goodwin Games, Just for Laughs), Dean Delray (WTF with Marc Maron, You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes), and more! With host Christian Spicer (Double Jump, IMPRO(vs)TANDUP).

Come see some of the best comics create and develop new bits, watch an amazing headliner do a long set of whatever material he/she wants right here in Los Angeles, and then subscribe to the podcast to get the behind-the-scenes insight…and it’s all free. Yes and please.

Free.
