This Week at NerdMelt Showroom: Seems Legit, Prompter, A Harmontown Garage Sale & more!

NerdMelt Showroom

It is going to be a great week at NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles this week, with shows like Seems Legit, Prompter, a Harmontown garage sale before Harmontown itself, and a lot more. Fun. Stuff. We don’t blame you if you want to just spend the whole week at NerdMelt. It’s cool. We get it. Totally.

March 22nd at 7pm it’s Seems Legit!

Seems Legit is a truly outrageous storytelling show. Most performers will be telling seemingly true tales, but one of them will be lying to you. However, unlike your past relationships, you’ll get to call this person a big fat liar right to their face (and all of the Twittersphere). You like stories, but you like being right even more, don’t you? Join us and find out if you can really tell if someone is faking it.

With stories by James Adomian, John Roy, Jake Fogelnest, Rhea Butcher, Thomas Dale, and Paul Brittain. With music by King Cyrus King (of Hot Karate)

$8 in advance, $10 at the door.

March 22nd at 9pm it’s Prompter!

Troy Conrad‘s newest creation!  Comics use a teleprompter to deliver a TED Talk-style presentation. When the teleprompter unexpectedly freezes, the performer must rely on their ability to improvise and continue their talk on the subject until the prompter comes back on.  How much fun can comics have with a supposedly “broken” teleprompter and an absurd premise?  A lot, it turns out.

Featuring presentations by Jerrod Carmichael, Mike McShane, Sean Patton, and more! Hosted by Whitmer Thomas!

Free.

March 23rd 11am – 6pm it’s Harmontown Charity Garage Sale!

Dan Harmon are the rest of the Harmontown gang are selling their stuff in a giant garage sale to benefit 826LA!! There will be music. There will be baked goods. There will be Dan Harmon, LIVE in person to sign blenders, t-shirts, furniture, art work and any other “treasures” you may discover.

All proceeds go to 826LA!

March 23rd at 8pm it’s Harmontown!

What is Harmontown? It’s awesome. It’s unique. It’s one of a kind. It’s something only Dan Harmon (creator of Community and Rick and Morty) and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) can do. It’s a different show every time and it’s every week. Lucky us! Playing Dungeons and Dragons? It’s happened. Dan Harmon freestyle rapping? Yup, that too. Calling Chevy Chase from stage? Happened…more than once. A celebrity guest? Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs among others have all stopped in. Getting super personal with an intimate audience? Always. It’s Harmontown. It’s awesome. It’s unique. Don’t miss a single week. Subscribe to Harmontown on iTunes today!

$10.

It’s just Greg Proops and you. There’s no fan fare. Proops takes center stage at small table and chair setup with a single microphone. Then he’s off. An hour of great conversation that flies by at a break neck clip. He crams the feeling of a great two-way conversation into the lecture-style format of a one-way conversation. Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. The Proopcast has been to Australia, New Zealand, Montreal, London, Edinburgh, Austin, Cleveland, San Francisco and off the coast of St. Martin in the Caribbean all in one year. Now you must fall. Be there and experience joy for once in your life. Download for free at Proopcast.com
