This Week at NerdMelt Showroom: No Pun Intendo, Prompter, Dan St. Germain, and more!

NerdMelt Showroom

Schooooooool’s back for a little. Schoooooool’s back for a little. Some more pencils, some more books, some new teacher’s dirty looks. Schooooool’s back for a little. Not entirely sure if that’s how the song goes, but you get the drift. Good thing there are some fantastic shows going down at the NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles this week to counterbalance all that school stuff. This week, catch shows like the debut of No Pun Intendo, the return of Prompter, and Dan St. Germain’s album recording!

September 8th at 8pm it’s Harmontown!

Harmontown NerdMelt Showroom

What is Harmontown? It’s awesome. It’s unique. It’s one of a kind. It’s something only Dan Harmon (creator of Community and the upcoming Rick and Morty) and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) can do. It’s a different show every time and it’s every week. Lucky us! Playing Dungeons and Dragons? It’s happened. Dan Harmon freestyle rapping? Yup, that too. Calling Chevy Chase from stage? Happened…more than once. A celebrity guest? Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs among others have all stopped in. Getting super personal with an intimate audience? Always. It’s Harmontown. It’s awesome. It’s unique. Don’t miss a single week.

$10.

September 11th at 8:30pm it’s The Meltdown Show with Jonah and Kumail!

Meltdown NerdMelt Showroom

At The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, you’ll see some of the biggest comics, up and coming acts just before they get famous, and as always, surprise drop-ins that will knock your socks off.

$8.

September 12th at 8pm it’s Prompter!

Prompter NerdMelt Showroom

Troy Conrad’s newest creation!  Comics use a teleprompter to deliver a TED Talk-style presentation.  When the teleprompter unexpectedly freezes, the performer must rely on their ability to improvise and continue their talk on the subject until the prompter comes back on.  How much fun can comics have with a supposedly “broken” teleprompter and an absurd premise?  A lot, it turns out. September 12, catch: Jerrod Carmichael, Mike McShane, and Kumail Nanjiani!

Free.

September 13th at 7:30pm & 9pm it’s Dan St. Germain “Bad at the Good Times” Album Recording!

Dan St. Germain NerdMelt Showroom

Dan St. Germain was chosen as featured comic in Variety’s annual prestigious “10 Comics To Watch” list. Time Out New York has remarked that “St. Germain has a playful, freewheeling sensibility that sends the audience tumbling through daydreams of his design.” Dan’s Comedy Central special The Half Hour recently hit the airwaves, and he’s now busy developing a script for the network called Hell Hole. He has appeared on Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Best Week Ever, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, The Electric Company, and a bunch of other basic and not-so-basic cable programs. Catch him live recording his debut album for aspecialthing records.

Free. (7:30 & 9:00)

Thank you all so much for your continued support of the showroom. Follow us on Twitter and track us on our blog for more info about any of these shows!
