March 15th at 9pm it’s Karma: Comedy for Good!
Karma: Comedy For Good:Â A monthly comedy show of stories, characters, and stand-up. Every month the proceeds fundraised go to a different charity. The charities chosen range from local to global nonprofits focusing on anything from education to animals to environment to human rights to equality. This month proceeds will go to Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit devoted to building schools in developing countries and providing education, both primary and secondary, in places where basic educational needs aren’t met. $25 is enough to educate a child in Ghana or Laos or Guatemala or Nicaragua for one year. So bring a friend, and help educate a child!

The Nerdist Writers Panel series is an informal chat moderated by Ben Blacker (co-creator of The Thrilling Adventure Hour; writer for Supah Ninjas, Supernatural, among others) with professional writers about the process and business of writing. Covering TV, film, comic books, music, novels, and any other kind of writing about which you care to hear.
March 16th welcome special guests Jonathan Groff (creator, Andy Barker PI; Happy Endings; Scrubs), Rob Doherty (creator, Elementary), and more to be announced.
The line-up is subject to change. And as always, a portion of the proceeds from the live panels benefit 826LA, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles that supports students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills.

March 18th at 7pm it’s Writerâs Guild Foundation presents Genre Smash!
Eric Kripke was a journeyman writer, working on shorts and a short-lived Tarzan series before creating Supernatural â about two brothers who tour the country in a â67 Impala fighting demons â in 2005. The show would go on to garner a huge fan base and persist for ten seasons. New episodes are still in production.  But thatâs not all! In 2012, Eric debuted Revolution on NBC, a post-apocalyptic drama about a worldwide blackout. The show has been nominated for multiple Saturn Awards including Best New Television Series, which it won. March 18, Eric will be on hand to chat about creating (and later leaving) Supernatural, as well as Revolution and his other projects.

Directed by Liam Sullivan, Thugs, The Musical is a short film written and produced by Kevin Avery (writer on HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) about a frustrated, sightly delusional, and extremely non-urban black actor who writes, directs & stars in a disastrous musical to prove to Hollywood and the world that he can “act black.” Starring Kevin, the film also features David Alan Grier, Baron Vaughn, Margaret Cho, Rachel True, Kenn Michael, and Prodigal Sunn from the Wu Tang Clan.
