NerdMelt Showroom

There’s a great week ahead at the NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, including Bob Odenkirk at Set List, IMPRO(vs)TANDUP back after packed shows at the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, the debut of Picture This!, and Kevin Shinick getting inducted into the 501st!

Saturday, February 23rd at 8pm it’s Set List!

Set List NerdMelt Showroom

From the minds of Paul Provenza and Troy Conrad, Set List is back from sold-out shows at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, and a regular run in London. Top comics are given a never-before-seen “set list” of strange and outrageous topics the second they walk onstage, and perform seamlessly as if its the act they normally do, while the audience follows their list on the projection screen. Complete comedy in the moment. Saturday, catch Byron Bowers, Bobcat Goldthwait, Jackie Kashian, Bob Odenkirk, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Ritch Shydner, and Paul Provenza!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Sunday, February 24th at 7pm it’s Nerdist Open Mic!

nerdmeltopenmic NerdMelt Showroom

Come watch Matt Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy.

FREE.

Monday, February 25th at 8pm it’s Harmontown!

Harmontown NerdMelt Showroom

After a vodka-soaked tour across the U.S., Harmontown is home at NerdMelt! What is Harmontown? It’s awesome. It’s unique. It’s one of a kind. It’s something only Dan Harmon (creator of Community and the upcoming Rick and Morty) and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) can do. It’s a different show every time and it’s every week. Lucky us! Playing Dungeons and Dragons? It’s happened. Dan Harmon freestyle rapping? Yup, that too. Calling Chevy Chase from stage? Happened…more than once. A celebrity guest? Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs among others have all stopped in. Getting super personal with an intimate audience? Always. It’s Harmontown. It’s awesome. It’s unique. Don’t miss a single week.

$10.

Wednesday, February 27th at 7pm it’s Kevin Shinick Inducted Into the 501st!

IMPROvsTANDUP NerdMelt Showroom

IMPRO(vs)TANDUP brings the best improvisers and stand-up comedians together for one incredible show, a cross-discipline cagematch for the ages. Improvisers and stand ups do what they do best and then switch places to try their hand at what the other does best. And perhaps best of all, the audience determines which discipline wins the night: improv or stand up.

February 28th catch: stand up by: Andrew Santino (Arrested Development, Punk’d); Melissa Villasenor (Family Guy, Adventure Time, America’s Got Talent); Andy Peters (Seattle International Comedy Contest, Clipaholics) and improv by Trophy Wife! Hosted by Rajan Dharni (CBS, Eleanor) and Christian Spicer (Weekend Confirmed, Uninformed Opinions, Double Jump, SketchMelt)!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Thursday, February 28th at 9pm it’s RISK!

RISK NerdMelt Showroom

RISK! is the show where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public. Stories they’d normally only tell to close friends. At the RISK! Live shows, the brightest stars of TV, film and literature drop their usual act and show a side of themselves you’ve never seen before. RISK! is hosted by Kumail Nanjiani!

Thursday catch: Kurt Braunohler (Bunk, Chelsea Lately, Hot Tub with Kurt & Kristen), DC Pierson (Mystery Team, Community, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep And Never Had To), Emily Gordon (The Indoor Kids), Andy Cobb (Second City ETC, Key And Peele), and Greg Walloch (The Moth, Howard Stern radio show).

Friday, March 1st at 8pm  it’s Picture This!

Picture This NerdMelt Showroom

Picture This! is a new comedy show from Sam Varela, Brandie Posey & Grif Kimmins, two girls & an animator who want to push the boundaries of what a comedy show can be. Picture This! is a live comedy show with stand-ups performing while they are drawn live by some of the best animators, cartoonists, and other artists in Hollywood, CA. The comedians don’t know what the animators are drawing and the animators don’t know how the comedians will react. It may be weird. It may different. But it will be a unique comedy experience every time! After performing for a year in LA, New York, Toronto and Australia Picture This! is debuting at the NerdMelt Showroom, come see the show that everyone will be talking about! With special guests Steve Agee, Jen Kirkman, Ali Wong, Jerrod Carmichael, Cameron Esposito & Josh Androsky!
