This Week at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown!

Another week, another stack of reasons to come on down to 7522 W Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, home of Nerdist Industries and Nerdist Theater at Meltdown! Let’s dig in!

Tonight at 8pm, we have The Conan Showcase Show!

Tonight, you’ll see amazing comedians from all over showcase for a chance to do perform on Conan! Hosted by Kumail Nanjiani, this show will feature Matt Braunger, Sean Patton, Adam Cayton-Holland, Jordan Rubin, Aaron Glaser, Jonah Ray, Christina Pazsitsky, and Greg Barris! Conan is known for introducing America to the hottest comics you’ve never heard of, and now you can watch the magic happen for yourself.

It’s $8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Saturday night at 8pm, we have the return of Harmontown!

The countdown continues due to overwhelming demand: Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon (creator of NBC’s Community) and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, drunken step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”

Tickets are $10!

Sunday at 5pm it’s the Nerdist Writer’s Panel!

Spend your Sunday afternoons learning from the best at the Nerdist Writing Panel! Join moderator Ben Blacker as he hosts esteemed panelists discussing topics like different types of writing, how they got started, what inspires them, the business side of writing, and more. Panelists will also answer your questions and give some helpful tips and tricks! This series is a must for any hopeful writer in LA, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit 826LA.

Scheduled to appear: Peter Gould (Breaking Bad), Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights; Boston Public), Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights; Dead Like Me)

Tickets are $15!

Then at 7pm Sunday, it’s Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.

FREE!

Tuesday at 8pm we have Sex Nerd Sandra LIVE!

This month, Sex Nerd Sandra welcomes sex educator/porn director/author Jamye Waxman– she literally wrote the book on female masturbation. “Sex Nerd” Sandra Daugherty is the lead sex educator at Pleasure Chest LA and has been teaching sex and intimacy skill workshops for over two years, helping thousands of people improve their sex lives. Now The Nerdist’s own sexpert brings those skills to the back of a comic book store! Come and see the woman whose podcast is tearing up the charts live and in person as she geeks out on the finer points of orgasming your life and answers your most intimate questions.

$8 in advance, $10 day of show!

Wednesday, it’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

This popular weekly standup showcase, hosted by Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, welcomes Brent Weinbach, Melissa Villasenor, Jen Kirkman, Aaron Glaser, Brooke Van Poppelen, Brett Gelman, and a comic so big, we can’t list his name here!

Tickets are $8!

And then Thursday at 8pm, we have The Imaginary Radio Program!

On this month’s Imaginary Radio Show, we welcome MC Mr Napkins, Baron Vaughn, Rachel Bloom, and a very special surprise guest! Can we all agree that the radio is pretty terrible? With all of the annoying DJs, over-played songs, obnoxious commercials and boring interviews, it’s no wonder there are so many car accidents. The Imaginary Radio Program is the anti-radio. Brought to you by some of the best comics in the scene, the radio will be dissected station by station, parodied and brought to it’s knees in this hilarious musical comedy extravaganza. Presented by Destructo! Hosted by Drennon Davis (NBC’s LCS and Last Call)

$8 in advance, $10 day of show!

Plus here’s a video promo to entice you!

That’s it for this week, but look forward to more fun stuff as we roll into September! Check us out at http://NerdMeltLA.com and follow us on Twitter at @NerdMelt!
