This Japanese Teenager Is INSANELY Good at Drums

Alright, so the movie Whiplash showed off some super badass drumming, but Miles Teller doesn’t hold a candle to Senri Kawaguchi, an 18-year-old whose moves rival those of John Bonham or Dave Grohl. The clip above shows her in a blue uniform, drumming for Japan’s national soccer team (ahead of the FIFA World Cup). As well as the precision in her rhythm and coordination, you can see the no-nonsense laser focus in her eyes–well, except for that giant cheeky grin about half way through, right after she juggles her drum sticks.

It’s not surprising that Kawaguchi picked up those drum sticks when she was little, because practice must have come into play a lot here. She’s now balancing her school work with being a professional musician–yep, the girl already has two jazz albums on iTunes. She’s the real deal, and now having taken the internet by storm, drummers around the world are taking notice.

Here’s another clip of her drumming while wearing some Where’s Waldo-style glasses. Unlike the other clip, she’s smiling the whole time, and I was too after watching her.

Check out more of Kawaguchi’s insane drumming via her YouTube channel, and don’t forget to give her a thumbs up on Facebook if you dig her sound. Who drums the world? Senri Kawaguchi.
