No, there isn’t a problem with the Earth’s gravitational pull — Back to the Future scribes Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have re-teamed and joined noted theater director Jamie Lloyd (no relation to former podcast guest Christopher Lloyd aka Doc Brown) to turn the 1985 classic into a stage musical!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the stage adaptation “will feature new music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. Additional music heard in the film by Huey Lewis & the News, Chuck Berry, Pat Ballard and Curtis Williams, including ‘The Power of Love’ and ‘Johnny B. Goode,’ will also be featured.”
No word on if any Van Halen will be added to the musical’s soundtrack…
Back to the Future is the latest in a long line of Hollywood films to be turned into a stage musical. The Wedding Singer and Ghost are both recent examples and even Guillermo del Toro has a Pan’s Labyrinth musical in the works. If all goes well Marty, Biff, George and Lorraine will come to life in London’s West End next year to celebrate the landmark film’s 30th anniversary.

Okay I get it we are nerds and geeks however you define yourselves. I absolutely love BTTF one of my all time favorite flicks and watching it at the drive in when I was 4 is one of my earliest memories. That being said why does there being a musical have any affect on any of us.
It doesn’t here is how it works if you like musicals and you thiink BTTF would make a good one then you will like this if you hate musicals then you DON’T CARE it’s that simple. You don’t really care you can’t it’s literally impossible for you to care if you are already bitching.
Sure you can like musicals and want to see it and then complain “well they did it badly” that’s fine but if you aren’t the intended audience in that you don’t want to see it then you are just bitching to bitch. It existing has no affect on BTTF.
So say you are looking foward to it and then watch it and form an opinion or pop in the DVD and enjoy the fact that one doesn’t cancel out the other.
