Asian countries don’t tend to have the same rules about intellectual property and copyright as there are in North America and Europe; if they did, this would be a litigator’s favorite place on Earth. A motel (not even a hotel, mind you, a MOTEL) in Taiwan can boast an entire room themed after DC Comics’ most popular character, the Caped Crusader Batman.
The establishment is called the Eden Motel, a really fancy, upscale sort of place where you have to book the room by the hour, not the night. Why would that be, I wonder? Probably for tourist reasons, right? Am I the most naive person in the world? Eden contains rooms in a number of different styles and themes, from Mediterranean to a Mummy’s Tomb (very sexy) to “Water Dance” which literally just looks like a pink bedroom. But, naturally, the one that has us raising an eyebrow is the one devoted to the Dark Knight himself, and devoted it is, as the below gallery can show you.
Holy Emblem Everywhere, Batman! I don’t even think Warner Bros. puts the bat symbol on that many different things. This room, despite having a really cool Batcave-looking ceiling and a pretty Gotham City mural behind the bed, is pretty much nothing but that familiar logo put on or made into every single thing you could possibly think of. Is it on the bed a thousand times? Of course. Is it etched into the vanity mirror and surrounding the flatscreen TV? You bet. Is it on a thousand different things in the room from the bedside table to the wall-hangings to the very floor you stand on? Uh, duh!
It’s almost like the Eden Motel doesn’t really know what else to put in a Batman-themed room besides the symbol itself. How about you ask any 7-year-old Bat-fanatic? I’m sure they’d be able to help. But I guess if people are only staying for an hour or two, subtlety needs to go out the window a little bit. Oh, there doesn’t seem to be a window in that room either. Now that IS cave-like.
What do you think of this room? Too gaudy for you, or just up your Bruce Wayne alley? Let us know below.

If you think themed rooms are cool, try the Roxbury Motel in the Catskills of NY. Flintstone room, Shagadelic, George’s Spacepad, Genie’s Bottle … are just a few. Not a superhero theme, but very cool. Every room is different.
This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. My 6 year old and 3 year old sons are batman fanatics and would love nothing more than to visit a place like this!!!
Wait till their over 18, April.
