Third AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Trailer Unlocked Early

Dan Casey explains the new trailer’s hidden Ultron Easter egg.

The Age of Ultron is nearly upon us and thanks to the handy work of Earth’s Mightiest Fans, Marvel released the third trailer for the highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron early. Somehow, Marvel has done it again, delivering a blisteringly paced, action-packed trailer laden with Easter eggs, heretofore unseen character moments, and some jaw-dropping set pieces that have me shaking my fists angrily at my calendar because it isn’t May 1 yet.

What a trailer, huh? Not only do we get an Easter egg hinting at Ultron’s comic book origin (see my vlog above), but we also hear about Tony Stark’s hand in creating the Ultron program, see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes at both their highest and lowest points, and get a few more wonderfully Whedon one-liners, to boot. Like an idiot, I took off my headphones after the trailer smashed to the film’s logo, having to hastily put them back on when a vision appeared on my screen. Well, not just any vision–The Vision. It may have just been his face, but it was our first look at Paul Bettany’s live-action version of the venerable Avenger, and now I can’t wait to see more.

Vision… ‘s face, finally. I guess he’s a secret for the film? (Moereso than Quiksilver and Scarlet Witch, and like Serkis’ Claw? Wonder if he’ll be in cahoots with the bad guys in this, along with the m-t-nt twins? At least in the beginning?)I feel my comicsdom flag flying high. Your move, WB/DC.

Nice report, Dan. I would’ve paid more attention but I was highly distracted by the Sixth Doctor over your left shoulder. Nice.

  7. Insightful Panda says:

Did you see the new Ironman Mk XLV Armor in the Trailer? That means 3 suits for him. I assume the last one is either totaled by Hulk or infiltrated by Ultron like in the comics.
Here’s a closer look at that, the mind control and everything else in this trailer
