Things Get Toasty in New Trailer for MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS

All right, so running in a giant, ever-changing maze full of spider-like creatures surrounding a big meadow is pretty scary, but what about when the shady government agency in a post-apocalyptic Earth lets you leave? That’s probably a lot scarier, as our young heroes of The Maze Runner learn in the second part of the epic sci-fi series, The Scorch Trials, which has just released a new trailer for your excited perusal.

Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and friends think they’re safe, or at least safER, than they were in the middle of the experiment where they were stuck in forced amnesia, but if Game of Thrones has taught us anything, it’s never trust Aiden Gillen. (I have it on good authority that Jansen is a derivation of the name Baelish. Go ahead, look it up. I know you won’t!) But even if they do escape Littlefinger, they have to deal with the Scorch, which is the clever name for the completely barren world that was once some huge major city. I mean, talk about out of the fireplace into the desert.

Aaaaaand, as if that weren’t enough, there’s the Cranks to deal with. The Cranks are those scary as crap zombie guys who chase our heroes up and over toppled buildings. So that’s fun. Even meeting up with the tough and sexy Brenda (Rosa Salazar) doesn’t quite make up for that, huh? It almost does, but not entirely.

It’s a bad, bad, bad, bad world but our heroic band of youths are gonna run through it, and you can see it all when Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials hits theaters on September 18th.

Let us know what you think of the Scorch in the comments below.
