Things Get Bloody in This New WITCHER 3 Trailer

If there was any doubt that The Witcher 3 was going to be a blood-soaked gore-fest, the game’s newest trailer “Rage and Steel” casts it aside like a newly decapitated head. As we inch closer and closer to the May 19 release date, feeling of launch time greatness is upon us, and I couldn’t be any more excited.

In the trailer above, we’re given a closer look at our favorite Witcher’s brutal attacks. It seems if you want to keep your head, staying away from Geralt of Rivia is probably your best bet. Seriously though, this guy will make your head roll faster than you can say “off with her head”. The Queen of Hearts would have loved him.

Aside from human baddies, a couple of the monsters are shown off as well. As you traverse the absolutely gorgeous landscape, you’ll encounter the likes of dragons, cyclops and griffons, oh my! Speaking of the scenic locale, it is nothing less than stunning. As you fight to the death or explore the open area, you’ll be greeted with beautiful vistas, sunsets, and even a burning house or two. The use of light is impeccable, and definitely a sight to be seen. As level designer Miles Tost noted to the Verge, “Believability is a really big thing for us.”

Last but not least, we’re treated with a nice little look at the new playable character Ciri, who like Geralt, massacres everything in her path. If you thought his decapitation spree was too much to watch, shield your eyes, because this magical mistress has moves similar to something straight out of Mortal Kombat.

What did you think of the brand new trailer? Are you looking forward to getting your hands on the game? Let us know in the comments below.
