There’s something about the Star Wars universe that draws out the creativity in people. Whether it’s chalk drawings or cosplay or T-shirts or cupcakes or murals, the galaxy from far far away inspires the urge to make all kinds of tribute art so that we can meld as much of the saga with our daily lives as possible. And when masters of illustration and graphic art like Vine animator Pinot feels the Force of creativity awaken and picks up his pen, well, that’s like watching a subtly pissed-off Yoda pick up a lightsaber.
You know something really cool is about to go down.
Wahyu Ichwandari, a.k.a. “Pinot,” turned his insane animation and illustration skills toward the ultimate fan-fueled franchise in some of his latest Vines, and they literally jump off the page. Like this one below, showing off our favorite “TRAITOR!” pulling off his Stormtrooper helmet, delivering a bit of classic Finn-ish dialog, and then proceeding to crash his TIE fighter into the wall of what looks like Pinot’s art studio. (At least it’s not Jakku.)
Here Pinot illustrates lady jay Rey pulling her goggles down over her eyes, jumping on her speeder, and racing off a blank notebook page, likely on her way to sell some scrap Star Destroyer for some “portions.”
Â
And of course, the epic duel from The Force Awakens, when two plump little cartoon chickens lightsaber battle each other in pitch black darkness only to be interrupted by a very talented Indonesian illustrator. (J.J. may have cut this scene from the released film, but look for it on the Blu-ray bonus features.)Â
