These STAR TREK Toys from QMX Are Set to Stun

While Star Trek fans of the world have, sadly, forever lost the chance to invite the real Leonard Nimoy into their living rooms, and William Shatner‘s probably too busy running horse-racing charities, Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx) have created the next best thing. These 12-inch replicas of Captain Kirk and First Officer Spock are so lifelike, you might not want to turn your back on them lest a sudden miniature Vulcan nerve pinch drop you to the floor. Seriously, I saw the prototypes up close at Wondercon, and it’s like QMx sculpted every pore on the actors’ faces.

Kirk and Spock come with multiple hands for all the key poses, from “mind-meld” to “karate chop,” and all their key accessories, including communicators, phasers, and Kirk’s tablet and stylus. For an extra 20 bucks, exclusive versions come with bonus accessories: Kirk with a phaser rifle, for days when the flaying dropkick just isn’t enough to flatten the Klingons, and Spock’s lute, for those times when space hippies show up and you just have to jam with them or risk being called a “Herbert.”

So how do you get these? You can preorder the exclusive versions at qmxonline.com on June 23, at 10 AM PT priced at $199.95 each. Alternately, a limited amount will be set aside for sale each day at QMx’s Comic-Con booth, as well as select international retailers. The regular versions, priced at $179.95, should be available from all your favorite online stores. Take a look at our gallery of images below, and I think you’ll agree that for any devoted Trekker, preordering is simply logical.

Do you plan to boldly go to QMx’s website and make the purchase? Beam down to comments and report.
