Crafty Etsy merchant Kutuleras has created some of the most adorable tiny crocheted Cthulhus you’re bound to see. Her amigurumi prowess has led to such an increase in demand that availability of these little death gods has been pushed back to next month! Amigurumi crafting is known for its tiny cute anthropomorphic characters and Kutulera’s creations are no different. The crafty artist, based in Spain, has even mashed up Cthulhu with some other very popular characters like Pokémon‘s Pikachu and Hayao Miyazaki‘s Totoro!
These wonderful tiny versions of The Old One have even tapped into the Minions phenomenon. They love destruction AND bananas! And if these little Minion Cthulhus result in a handful of the younger generation becoming familiar with the Lovecraftian deity, well, then so be it!Â
Beyond Cthulhu, Kuluteras’ Mari also created a set of Pikachu and My Neighbor Totoro figures, each disguised as the other! And there’s even a little steampunk Cthulhu, adorned with a monocle and top hat. Is it just us, or does he remind anyone else of the Powerpuff Girls‘ Mayor of Townsville? [Editor’s Note: I thought the exact same thing.]
Amigurumi crochet is a very time-intensive craft, and so if you’re interested in picking one of these up for yourself, we suggest bookmarking the Kutuleras shop page and getting your orders in when they become available. While you’re waiting for the little yarn creatures, the shop also has a selection of unique headphone creations and a few perler bead magnet sets!
